Market! I don't know if it is his local show or his national show (syndicated through Air America) that goes up against Limbaugh in Seattle. But...

I've not been able to catch repeats of the show at the main link - the link that usually plays his show 24/7...? This was a topic of conversation that the Thom Hartmann chat room on Monday - other people could not get it either.

If his national show airs 9A-12N in Seattle when does he do his local show? Is his local show 7-9 am in Portland, Oregon?

His national show airs 12-3 pm EST - so I guess it would air 9-12N in Seattle.

Converting time zones makes me dizzy..

Btw, I live in Mountain time, so understand aboout doing conversions. Having grown up in NYC in the Eastern zone I was spoiled. But after a while, it's second nature.

But he also has the largest TSL (time spent listening) of any host on KPTK: about an hour and a half.

Kinda ironic that Thom gets better ratings than Franken, who is delayed to afternoon drive.

On his home page, the program director from KPTK says:

The Thom Hartmann Program is intelligent, informative, passionate, and entertaining. The total liberal talk package from an instantly likeable guy. A major reason why our TSL is through the roof!

percentage point of becoming Seattle's Number One Talk Radio station (buh-bye hate-talkers!).

(according to the station manager, at last week's seminar featuring Hartmann, Malloy, Flanders, Miller & Maddow).

Edited to clarify: AM1090 is our local progressive talk radio (featuring all of the afore-mentioned heroes along with Randi Rhodes, Ed Schultz, Al Franken and Kennedy's Ring of Fire on the weekends, among others).

who is my favorite along with majority report but it looks like the progressive talk show hosts pretty much kicked the right wing's asses. O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage...they all get their asses kicked by liberal radio shows in Seattle. Nice :) :toast:

I guess I can take some credit. He's smart and easy to listen to. I like his talking point about changing the "Iraq War" to the "Iraq occupation." Let's call Iraq what it is--Americans don't like to lose wars. Go Thom!

I forget to add that he plays the best music in the business---"Democracy" by Leonard Cohen and a new one about man in the shadows.
