I wish Olbermann would ignore O'Rielly.

I'm all for keeping the record straight and doing our part to keep the facts on the table, but I really believe a better strategy is to not give them any additional ratings or attention in their hate Americans war.

O'Reilly, Rush, Hannity, Malkin, Coulter, blah blah blah. Like it or not, the only reason they are still out there is money. We ignore them, don't patronize their advertisers etc then eventually they will fade away into yesterday's newsblip. I think if every progressive blog and show and everyone else just pretended like they didn't exist, quit watching/listening just to see what lie was spewed today, and concentrated on furthering the issues that actually make people's lives measurably better, well I think it would not take long before these nuts are gone.

Just my humble opinion.

BTW, I'm talking about ignoring wingnut politicians. They do, actually have the power to F things up when they spew.

Edit, sorry, that should be NOT talking about ignoring politicians.

8. Ignore the rest, yes, but we need to let KO continue on O'Lielly
Besides being entertaining, it totally gets under O'Rielly's skin. Not really so with the others, but BO (great initials, btw--LOL) is such a friggin insecure narcissist, you know he has to take in every word uttered about him!

14. Hee hee ~
Well, technically speaking, his initials are BOR (as most people with hyphens in their surnames will tell ya') but BOR fits him as well.

2. But if I only listen to KO
that's not really helping O'Liely. I keep apace with the idiocies he spews while Keith puts them into humorous context for me.

4. I agree Rosemary !
The more press the wingnuts get, the more "books" they sell. So I totally understand ignoring them, even if it means DU gets "bored" occasionally :toast:

5. O'Lielly HATES it!
Hates having his lies revealed. Hates being talked about sarcastically. And that makes me laugh.

I hope KO never retires O'Lielly to the Worst Person In The World Hall of Fame.

6. I love it!
It drives o'rielly CRAZY! He's such a pompous blowhard, his fake folksy slant, while wearing all that makeup. WHat is it with fox people and makeup anyway?

15. Once I saw O'Reilly in an outdoor setting, with no make-up, and nearly
swallowed my tongue. You simply won't believe what he looks like without that stuff. He is blotchy in a way you've never seen "blotchy." It's as if there is an entire condition created just for O'Reilly. Unbelievable.

7. I think that's why KO does it. O'Reilly is
notoriously thin-skinned. I'm sure it drives him into full boiled rage to know that KO's desirable demographic is laughing at him. O'Reilly is a guy who carried on a fatwa against George Clooney. He couldn't shut up about the guy - his newspaper columns, his TV show. He had a crush. He goes on tirades against anyone who disses him...including a deceased newspaper publisher. (O'Reilly called out a fatwa against the poor guy -- showed his picture on his TV show, with the newspaper's phone number. Well, good luck calling the guy. He's been dead for years.)
KO knows this about O'Reilly and keeps it up. And you know O'Reilly has staff watching KO to report back.
Like you, that makes me laugh.

10. O'Lielly's BS Should Receive The Light Of Day
If only more media outlets exposed Billo for what a "pantaloon" he is, he'd finally go the way of Morton Downey Jr.

13. Exactly. Contrary to popular belief, ignored bullies don't give up.
They just intensify their attacks and their extremism as further attention ploys.

The best way to defuse these jerks is to ridicule them to death. Punch holes in all their arguments and do it in a way that's fun and entertaining for people who might otherwise not pay attention. Before you know it, their power sorta fades away because mostly everyone just thinks of them as a joke.

18. It's the other way around.
O'Reilly has higher ratings than Olbermann. When O'Reilly responds to the attacks, it helps Keith's ratings. Olbermann explained it that way and called O'Reilly an idiot for responding to him.
