I like that Kerry is showing this leadership in calling for redeployment.

I've been kind of back and forth on the idea for awhile. But hearing him on the Senate floor pretty well convinced me about it. He had a nice back-and-forth with John Warner, and I thought that Kerry got the better of it. We should set a timetable for redeployment, I believe, within the year.

His position is well thought-out and clear enough for the public- if the media will give it an explanation of more than three words ("cut and run"), which really isn't too much to ask. It's the media's responsibility to report just a COUPLE more facts as to actual PROPOSAL, as opposed to the political fallout and drama of it all. They ought to be called out for not doing so.

In the long run, Kerry's leadership in this will pay off for both him and our country. What he's doing takes courage, and it might be a little painful, but it's the right thing, and will help to lead us to a better path.

Well done, Kerry, and thanks.

1. Yesterday Senator Kerry showed us what a leader is; I had
forgotten, it's been so long.

2. That dialogue with Sen. Warner was great
It shows what we have lost recently with Congress becoming so poisonly partisan. I do no agree with Sen. Warner's position. However, he asked great questions and he listened to what Sen. Kerry was saying. (That was also true the other way around; Sen. Kerry also showed interest and listened to what his senior colleague was saying.)

It's too bad that this won't get great airplay or notice. We need more of this type of debate and we need more people to see it. It was about the best airing of the Iraq situation as had been had in Congress since 2002. Imagine, Warner remarking that he had been at the Navy when Kerry's Silver Star citation paperework came through and Warner saying that he had checked it for accuracy and passed it along. How utterly civilized.

3. I agree, and what is wrong with a "date certain" to redeploy our troops.
Those who say the terrorists will "wait around" until we have gone, I say--Great, we can finish "training up the Iraqis" while they are "waiting around." And don't you think the Iraqis will make it their business to clear out the remnants of the foreign terrorists Zarqawi left behind--estimated to be around 1000--before we redeploy most out our troops out of the country.

We gave them a "date certain" for all their elections, and somehow they were able to get it done.

Yet, what we get today from the M$M is Adam Nagourney writing an article titled, "Rallied by Bush, Skittish G.O.P. Now Embraces War as Issue," apparently making their weakness a strength for the mid-terms and hinting that Rove is orchestrating this.
