So my Texas friend tells me the UAW pays the exact same pay and benefits

So my Texas friend tells me the UAW pays the exact same pay and benefits
in Texas that they do in Michigan and people should be happy to have jobs down there.

I really don't believe that this can be true, but can't find any stats to back me up. Can anyone help?

1. Most national labor unions have contracts of similar benefits
The Teamster Car haulers in Michigan (I was one) make almost identical wages and benefits as the ones in Cal. Same for the UAW.

3. So why don't they want to move to Texas?
Her husband is a supervisor at an auto plant (GM) and she claims that the people from Michigan have a bad attitude, don't want to be there, don't work hard, and abuse their benefits. She also thinks it's insane that they want their birthdays off. If everything else is equal and it's cheaper to live in Texas than Michigan, why is she telling me this? Something must be different for the workers down there.
