Conyers:GOP Approves Resolution of Inquiry Demanding Info
GOP Approves Resolution of Inquiry Demanding Info From Bush
Senate Dems to Probe Iraq Intel Manipulation

It was a busy week, but in case you missed it on Wednesday, after Democrats had proposesd scores of resolutions of inquiry asking the Bush Administration for information ranging from Downing Street, to torture, to plamegate, to warrantless wiretapping -- each one rejected on party line votes -- the Republicans finally accepted one. Last week, the House Judiciary Committee accepted Rep. Wexler's Resolution asking for information about the NSA's domestic telephone scandal. Buzzflash had the story. The story is not over, we still don't have the answers from the Bush Administration, but oversight has to to start somewhere, and this is as good a place as any.

Separately, I just read that the Senate Dems will conduct their own hearings next week on the pre-war intelligence manipulation. I have been connecting the dots on this scandal for over one year, and am glad my Senate counterparts are joining the fray.

These two stories show that some truth may finally start seeping out on these Bush Administration scandals. It could be an interesting summer.

4. They probably approved it because they want to see if their name
shows up on the list. Self-interested pack of self-serving slugs.

6. Its the most clearly impeachable offense committed by bush
Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 12:07 PM by TorchesAndPitchforks
Kevin Phillips remarked that bush was the first president ever to openly admit to an impeachable offense when he first reacted to the spying scandal.

Its an open and shut case. Their only defense is either "wartime powers" or "inherent power of the unitary executive." I'd love to see it argued in front of the Supreme court or in the Senate Court of Impeachment!

7. You want freedom fries with that
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court has had divisive rulings this year on the environment, police power and whistleblowers, and the justices are not even through with their hardest cases.

The high court is on a tight deadline to finish before July, when justices begin a three-month break that provides time for traveling, teaching classes, writing books and relaxing.
As usual, justices have left some of the most significant cases to the very end. There are 10 rulings left, on issues from a president's wartime powers, capital punishment, Texas' political boundaries and the insanity defense.

10. I wish we could get past the stonewalling
which has covered up all this mess up for 6 years, why do they have authority to never explain,
heck Frontline could get enough interviews to do a documentary on intelligence leading up
to the Iraq War, this information has been discussed on the blogs, on Tv, all over the globe,
everywhere but where it should be, in the US Congress. Hello, you gave him this power, maybe
you should do a fact check, hello????
