WTF???? coulter a dead-head?
If this is a satire, it's very well done and somewhat subtle. Odd and strange. Odd and strange.

John Barlow, author of some of the best Dead songs, used to be buddies with Dick Cheney. Go figure.

Edit: Correct spelling

Not to be a stickler but I am a dead head. "Throwing Stones" was written about Cheney apparently. If Coulter is a dead fan then she is one of the "Evil Dead Heads" that creeped into the scene. Also partially responsible for Phish IMO. Just kidding Trey and Co. B-)

I actually know someone with the incorrect name. The brain cells don't always fire right anymore. Too many Dead shows I suppose?

14. Say it ain't so! Damn! Dick Cheney a dead head? Planets align. :P
The best "dead head" concert that I enjoyed was from "The Jerry Garcia Band" at our local SDSU campus ... er ... I believe, in the Spring of 88' or perhaps 89.'

I know ... I know - I'm dating myself, but the music was PRIMO and we all had such a great time! The Generic Grateful Dead concerts that I've had the opportunity to attend in the California area were, IMO, seemingly more about "The whole ambiance of the Event" much more than the quality of the music. :hippie:

A significant amount of old Smokey Robinson too. Had a truly religious experience to "Tangled up in Blue" in 89 myself. ;)

I could never get much out of NY to see him/them. Did get to hit Oakland and Hamilton Ont. for a couple runs and a Boston Garden show that was epic.

It was a two day event. From what I remember (LOL) the Allmans opened for the Dead on Saturday and then the Dead opened for the Allmans on Sunday. Either way it was a great show (but weren't they all?).

22. My RW Catholic Conservative ex BF was also a dead head. I
am not judging, but this person did more ILLEGAL drugs than any other person I have ever known, bought boot leg (illegal recordings, etc. and is now a conservative RW Wacko! I judge her on her hypocrisy not her actions, but the condemnation of others doing the same things she did.

People that's who these younger (40's) RW Wackos are, some how they get a pass for doing somethings that we wouldn't or if we did would not condemn someone else for it.

Oh and by the way, here is how it goes. I was praised for my incredible memory (she admitted not having a good memory, for 20 + yrs., and it's true, hmmm wonder why?, until she went RW Wacko! Now, she doesn't remember anything and my memory must be in question!

I don't want to demean Catholics, I know a lot of good ones, she just lost it and is Catholic (and went to Catholic school, the whole way).

31. I'm convinced Coulter's schtick is all an act
I'm sure she's a Republican, but she says what she says because she knows it gets her attention and money. I doubt she believes 90% of the crap she spews. Not that her insincerity excuses her - if anything, it makes her more vile, especially when she goes from just being mean to being outright sadistic (insulting the 9-11 widows, etc.).

38. At Least Something She Does Is Tasteful. But Great, Now I Have A Shred Of
respect for her. But just a shred. Ok, maybe not really.

I've figured all along that her entire insanity and hateful rhetoric is just a ploy to make money and be successful, and this shows me that to be true even more. Everyone is innocent when they're singin the dead, it goes right to the soul. I just think it's a shame that to some money and stardom is more important than simple common decency and being real.

Ironic thing is that the Dead are one of the most genuine bands ever. Jerry would be completely disgusted by her antics had he been around today. What she portrays is exactly what the music of the dead rails against. But just the fact she is that big of a fan of theirs means behind the false insanity is at least a shred of human being. But probably just that shred alone.
