Poll question: What's the best thing about DU?

For my money, it's always been the Top 10 Conservative Idiots. For some it's the snappy repartee in the Lounge, for others the challenge of actually being the first to post something (anything!) to LBN. Can't wait to vote a post (any post!) praising your favorite candidate onto the greatest page? Love the intellectual rigor of the 9/11 forum (kidding)? The fast pace of GD the only thing getting you through your cubicle-bound week? Vote here for your all-time favorite DU thang (and be sure to mention any I've missed).

Updated to include "friends" and "alt news/info source."

1. Because I have such a low tolerance for the MSM
I rely on DUers to post the news that really matters. I turn on the tv for purely local items such as the weather. Thanks to all those who sort through the bull shit to keep me informed.

Works pretty good. Plus, around here you can pretty much tell by sticking your head out the door if it's cold. Or hot. Or raining.

anywhere else. That by far to me is what makes me love DU so much.

Sure, there's so much petty bickering and extremist knee-jerking that goes around at times and a lot of posts that really don't say much. But there is such a wealth of information here, fact checking and posters gifted in sifting through the MSM crap that I wouldn't know what to do without DU as a main source of my education.

DU is an invaluable source of truth, and I deeply respect, honor and wholeheartedly want to thank all of those that provide such truth. You all mean the world to me.

3. Great response.
And you're right--though I generally like Atrios/Kos/Digby for their take on the news, you never know which stories will catch their eye. Everything (and I mean everything) ends up on DU. Plus DU is much more comment-friendly, if you want to do the interactive thing.
