PLEASE STEAL THIS POEM ---- NO JOKE!!!
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 10:55 AM by Jeffersons Ghost
If I could give them eyes to see - past profits from a war
Perhaps Iraq could then be free - to live, just like before
Perhaps they'd see it clear as day - by seeing their own child
blowing other peoples' kids away - in conflict, now gone wild

If I could give them ears to hear - the muffled cries at night
Perhaps they'd listen to the fear - of missiles taking flight
Perhaps they'd hear a mothers' cry - weeping for her son
who bought into a vicious lie - which truly serves no one

If I could give them hearts to feel - the sorrow and the pain
Perhaps they'd taste the blood of death - as missions go insane
Perhaps they'd feel their bones break - when hidden bombs explode
near a child who fights for freedoms' sake - along a dusty road

If I could give them minds to think - about the greater cost
Perhaps we only win at war - when we measure what we've lost
Perhaps they'd learn, to truly win - we simply end the game
that measures score in countless death - on walls too black to name

Many have said their dogs could run the country better then *&co. Here's betting your small yellow dog could, as well as write poems all at the same time.

17. naa, she won't even chase cats or squirrels, much less terrorists...
How could a small yellow Benji look-alike rule the whole free world? She barks like hell but when other animals approach she just makes friends with them. As for people, she truly believes all of them are on the planet to pet her. In a way she combines both parties in her traits. She openly accepts others regardless of religion, attire or race like a Democrat but she also succumbs to her lower animal nature. I hate to admit it, but she is almost as greedy and self-serving as a Republican Senator.

Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 11:25 AM by Jeffersons Ghost
If I could give them lips to taste - the blood of their best friend
Perhaps they'd stop this hellish waste - and let the killing end
Perhaps if they could taste her blood - which splatters on their face
They'd hang their heads and curb the flood - and end Iraq's disgrace

is the name of the poem, DECLARATION OF PEACE or is it, if I could give them strength? I talked her into one final verse...

If I could give them strength to smell - a ripe corpse in the sun
Perhaps they'd smell death and disease - of battles lost, not won
Perhaps they'd sense sulphuric smoke - arising in the air
as it masks the scent of profits - for folks that do not care

21. I strongly suspect it will be signed by many that aren't democrats...
at all. In fact, I did not consider myself a "Democrat" prior to the USA Patriot Act. Even after Popa-Doc Bush, I still had fairly moderate views.

By others, I mean the VVAW and IVAW who we all should support. I bet lots of those guys who aren't Democrat will sign it, like they signed for our freedom in blood.

Hang on a sec... Let me get back to you... My little yellow dog is barking at something...

Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 02:58 PM by Jeffersons Ghost
Equal representation in a court of law for all citizens, regardless of economic status: Reasonable expectation of happiness through good health-care, regardless of status. No one can be happy if health-care expenses ruin their economic future: Equal representation in DC must be for everyone; run with the public, by the public and for the public.

There are some fairly striking revisions in copy, here:

THE GRUNTS' GIFT

If I could give them eyes to see - past profits from a war
Perhaps Iraq could then be free - to live, much like before
Perhaps they'd see it clear as day - when viewing their own child...
blowing other peoples' kids away - in conflict, now gone wild

If I could give them ears to hear - the muffled cries at night
Perhaps they'd listen to the fear - of missiles taking flight
Perhaps they'd hear a mothers' cry - a'weeping for her son...
who bought into a vicious lie - which truly serves no one

If I could give them hearts to feel - the sorrow and the pain
Perhaps they'd fear a death from steel - as missions go insane
Perhaps they'd feel their bones break - when hidden bombs explode...
near their child who serves for freedoms' sake - along a dusty road

If I could give them minds to soar - about the greater cost
Perhaps we only win at war - when we measure what we've lost
Perhaps they'll learn, to truly win - and swiftly end this game...
that keeps the score of countless sin - on walls too black to name

If I could give them lips to taste - the blood of their best friend
Perhaps they'd stop this hellish waste - and let the killing end
Perhaps if they could taste her blood - as it spews into their face...
they'll hang their heads to curb its flood - and end Iraq's disgrace

If I could give them strength to smell - a ripe corpse in the sun
Perhaps they'd sniff up deaths' hot hell - of battles lost, not won
Perhaps they'd sense sulphuric smoke - arising in the air...
that masks the stench of profits joke - for folks that do not care
