Human Rights Campaign at St Louis Pridefest
I stopped by the HRC booth at the STL Pridefest. I asked the one of the guys staffing the booth whether he was with the national organization (I don't think they really have any local groups.) When he responded that he was with the national organization I asked him why they endorsed Joseoph LIEberman for Senate in Connecticut. His response was that HRC focuses ONLY on GLBT issues and NOTHING else. He said that when it comes to GLBT issues Mr LIEberman has a 100% favorable rating.

He then said that HRC is non partisan and that he understood people had other issues and concerns but that on the issues of importance to HRC LIEberman was 100%.

Did LIEberman support DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act)?

2. HRC has got to be getting the message
I told them point blank - I wasn't sending them a penny as long as they endorsed Lieberman.... and I know others who've said pretty much the same..... they have to be rethinking that "endorsement".

3. I could tell he could tell I was not happy
about them endorsing LIEberman. I'll bet that's something they didn't expect to hear in MISSOURI!!!

Woo hooo!!! Give 'em a hard time whereever they are. They want people to send them money but don't like to be held accountable, how is that any different from the Dems and Pugs?

4. The 100% would be referring to his current rating
DOMA was back in 1996. He actually has a fairly good gay rights record. He supported a Connecticut version of ENDA back in the 1970's.
