Jeb Bush Eyed for Number Two Spot
Jeb Bush Eyed for Number Two Spot
Washington Whispers: "OK, so Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has made it clear that he doesn't want to run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008, but that hasn't stopped friends from talking him up for vice president. In fact, allies are pushing him as the perfect match for several Republicans already running for president, including Virginia Sen. George Allen, Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani."

Says a Bush friend: "I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes vice president."

2. I think most people don't want anymore Bushes in the WH.
Running for VP might hinder a serious running mates chances.

5. GOOD, I hope he is picked! That will guarantee a loss for the GOP!
One day last week, CNN had the results of some poll that listed the % of people who would NEVER consider voting for a particular candidate. The #1 who most people wouldn't vote for was Jeb!

14. Have you been in the US much?
Have you noticed they have stolen the two out of the two past elections?

16. Yes, but have YOU noticed Shrub's ratings lately? When those elections
wre held, he was at least 50%! Now the Pubs get excited when he goes from 34% to 35%!

People are tired of the NAME "bush", and they don't want another one...at least for a long time.

8. Yep, that's the strategy
Run a sacrificial candidate with Jebbie as VP in 2008. Blame all the problems from the last 8 years on the new Democrat in office when he doesn't fix them all overnight. Then run Jebbie as the savior of the nation.

13. By all means let the Jebster run.

There's a taint about the BushCo regime that will last for years. Candidates in many levels, right down to the local level, will be ashamed to run under the rethuglican banner for many years to come.

18. huh. my first cynical thought was that if they do this, & are successful
they would off the 'Number 1' guy so Jeb could just take over. Then he would run again as an incumbent. It terrifies me that we don't really know the valid outcome of elections anymore. We have to win and have a HUGE momentum going into 2008, so there will be no question of who's going to win-- US.
