4. ............
"Congress was briefed and what we did was fully authorized under the law," Bush said, talking with reporters in the Roosevelt Room after meeting with groups that support U.S. troops in Iraq.

"We're at war with a bunch of people who want to hurt the United States of America," the president said. "What we were doing was the right thing."

"The American people expect this government to protect our constitutional liberties and at the same time make sure we understand what the terrorists are trying to do," Bush said. He said that to figure out what terrorists plan to do, "You try to follow their money. And that's exactly what we're doing and the fact that a newspaper disclosed it makes it harder to win this war on terror."

16. Just the Chimpmeister's latest ramblings. Personally I think
KKKarl and his minions are just setting up the discussion for when we get hit again. They keep repeating that we "haven't been hit" because of their programs. Now with their poll numbers in the gutter they will need to step up the terra again before the mid-terms. Either we will get a flood of alerts, a bunch of arrests or actually get hit again and KKKarl, Chucklenuts, Dead Eye and any other asswipe they can round up to blame the media and the Dems for "outing" their illegal activities. We would have been safe if not for the media and the Dems. Count on it. This is all they have left.

They are desperate to save themselves come November so be prepare for everything to be thrown at us until then.

30. Interesting how he pointed this out:
"If yeh wanna know what the terr'ists er doin', you gotta follow their money."

That was the KEY piece of advice Deep Throat gave Woodward during Watergate, and what many of us have exhorted our reps to do - regarding him and dick "FIVE DEFERMENTS" cheney's sneaky-ass operations - FOLLOW THE MONEY. That door swings both ways, georgie-poo.

Equally interesting: his invocation of the 9/11 Commission and what it recommended. Was it not also determined by that commission that there was another half of the investigation to be instigated AND completed - that being an investigation into how the faulty intelligence WAS USED? If he's wrapping himself around the 9/11 Commission, somebody oughta remind him of that part of it, too.

38. Who would have guessed that they are monitoring international banking?
That would almost make some sense for a change coming from the same people who say they were clueless about 9/11.

Why this reaction, could it be there are some international banking transactions that they do not want you to hear about and require deni-ability? Could it be the millions or billions missing Iraqi cash might show up if there were inquiries? It seems a little odd Bush would get so steamed especially when the idiot media asks a couple of questions after all look how the NYT churns out government propaganda.

On the other hand the Governments ability to lose databases on laptops is well documented. Maybe some of the Wall Street donors are a little worried they might have bank accounts compromised. Someone other than dimson is upset.

laughing at Frum's assertion that he could tell from the "grammar" that the NY Times was the first to get the story and so should be prosecuted, even though other papers also published it?

It was yesterday and by the end Frank Rich was asking Frum if it was a code or was he looking at the paper under some light or something.

Chalked one up for Rich and the NY Times.

66. Oooh..."I'm the Decider! Hear me ROAR!!"
Like someone else said, very Lord Pissypants. I, for one, am so sick of his little indignant lectures where he talks down to We the people and the media as if we are a bunch of children who got into his secret porn stash and he's the Daddy who has to berate us for getting into something we aren't supposed to know about. :argh:

68. Uh oh!
We're in trouble now. For a newspaper to publish this is a disgrace. We're at war with a bunch of people who want to hurt the United States.

The United States is a big place. They gonna hurt it all? Also, how many is "a bunch?"

I, for one, am skeptical that there is a "bunch of people" that we are at war with, and I am skeptical that there is much danger of them "hurting the United States," regardless of anything the "newspapers" publish or don't publish.

Whenever Bush opens his mouth and speaks, his words seem to dissolve into the sound of toilets flushing.

to debase all media and distract from Downing Street and other crimes.
