2. That is illegal, no matter how they try to spin it. He is complicit

and it shows he has no respect for the law and the plea deal he made.

Throw away the key for the 4 or 5 years he should have served in the first place.

...I think his sentence was entirely appropriate-- all drug offenders ought to be treated that leniently, IMO.

4. But there is the rub...he isn't treated like any other drug addict.

He got special treatment, he got his mortal enemy the ACLU helping him out, he has a team of high priced lawyers on speed dial, and he walked away from charges that have sent other people to jail for long periods of time.

I, too, would like to see a sane and humane treatment of drug addiction. I would like to see health care coverage, compassionate sentencing, etc. but that is only available to reichwing gasbags. Until there is more equity between the haves and have nots, let his ass rot in jail.
