What if 1000 people stood down the street from the capitol building and burned 1000 flag posters made out of paper?

What if a performance artist smashed a TV with a flag on the screen?

What if we created little burning-flag animated signatures?

What if we created a book filled with photos of the flag and burned THAT?

What if we sold flag toilet paper? To France?

What would they do THEN?

I'm going to burn a flag and take pictures of it. I will burn the flag on the Fourth of July. I will be looking at the camera with my middle finger sticking out.

Then I will turn it into a postcard and send it to every fucking politician who votes in favor of the constitutional amendment.

I remember a friend and I having a conversation about this very subject back in the eighties. He's the one who pointed out that a poster of a flag is a symbol of a symbol. How far do they really want to stretch this?

Would Mr. Sluggo be indicted?

Is there anything more junior-high than getting the entire nation all emotionally embroiled in 'flag burning'?

Not only is this "debate" juvenile in itself, it turns the entire nation into 9th graders who are soooooo much more easily controlled.

After all, teenagers are so much more controllable and so much more discounted that fully functioning, thinking adults.
