A question nobody is asking Bush about the bank account story.
Edited on Tue Jun-27-06 05:54 AM by Hubert Flottz
If you were lying when you told us, that the only calls you listened in on were phone calls leaving, or coming into the country, why should anyone, be expected to believe, that the only bank accounts you were looking at, were only international accounts and not domestic ones?

I'll bet you anything we find out that Bushco is checking out EVERYONE'S bank accounts! This is why the crooks are so upset at the NYT!

Connect the monitoring of all phone calls and all bank accounts and you have the capabilities to monitor any business deal or political contribution in America! No wonder Bush don't want us to know. The insiders can milk the stock market and gain more political power, like nobody before them.

1. No doubt...
I bet there's a record of every transaction made by the Democratic National Committee and MoveOn.Org on Cheney's desk.

4. Another question that goes to yours
IIRC, SecTres Snow said that the program used an outside accounting firm (Booz·Allen & Hamilton) to ensure that the guidelines protecting privacy were followed.

Why use an "outside firm" when an "inside firm" (ie the Federal FISA Court) was available?

And as a follow up: Just what connection does Booz·Allen & Hamilton have to the powers-that-be?

5. All questions I'm sure Bushco would hate to have to answer.
So he's pissed at the NYT because they are causing him to sweat a little. If Bush has nothing to hide, why would he be upset?

9. Here's why he's sweating, IMHO
In a nutshell:

Flame away if you will, but IMHO the bank records project is most likely legal (with the exception of this BA&H thing and as far as we know of it's extent now).

The NSA wiretaps and a whole bunch of other things that Bush does in the intelligence side of the War on Terror is, at the least, questionable, and more than likely impeachable, and criminal.

But here's the thing...........

The NSA stuff is just listening in on what you say to most Americans, but the bank records, that's their wallet/purse. NOW, THAT'S PRIVATE!!!!

I think Rove, Bush and the rest know this, that's why all sweat over this.

11. 9/11 changed everything
One of the things it changed, IMHO, is how much liberty the American People are willing to give up for safety.

(Yea, I know the Franklin quote and all that.)

The line is still there, it just got moved back some. The GOP's ability to be able to ignore this obvious hypocrisy is another thing that changed.

Ironically, the Dems could pick up this mantle via a campaign issue on the lost Rights.

6. The ONLY question I want to hear asked of BushCo is...
are you corrupt bastards gonna come out of the White House peacefully, with your hands up, or do we need to come in and smoke you out???

12. It's really not poking around the financial records that's the issue.
A grade B terrorist could have figured out their finances were being watched. The issue is the secrecy surrounding everything this administration does. Added to that, they consistently lie about everything. That is the issue: we have someone in office we cannot trust and do not believe. The icing on the cake is that he's incompetent.
