"That's Bush" What is the origination?
I've heard my daughter say it to imply something is screwed up badly. I asked her where the derivation came from and she said she didn't know, she just heard other friends say it in the same context.

Another word they're saying, and writing on their shirts is "Ish." It's slang for "shit."

1. It's been in common usage in baseball for decades.
Saying something or someone is "Bush" refers to the minor leagues -- the "bush" leagues. It means the person or conduct doesn't measure up to what is expected of a major leaguer.

6. Funny, since the commander in chimp is such a baseball fan
and now he could be responsible for bringing back that expression

8. I think he already has.
My daughter's friends are not baseball fans.

2. Bush League...
I believe it's just a contraction-of-sorts of the long-used "bush-league":
"...Bush league is from 1908, from bush in the slang sense of "rural, provincial" (1650s), which was not originally a value judgment..."
http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?l=b&p=22

Originally used to represent minor league baseball, so as to differentiate it from the "real" level of baseball the professionals play. More recently applied to behavior that is amateurish, 2nd rate, "cheesy", immature, etc.

3. I'm guessing it's a contraction of 'bullsh*t". Nicer way of saying it.
Or, because * screws up everything, his name is synoymous with the same!

4. On 'ish', the first entry in the urban dictionary defines it thusly:

1. Slang term often used to replace "shit." Derived from the process of editing the vocals of rap-songs by revershing the curse words so said song could be played on radio or television.

"That's the dope ish"

9. The best replacements for curse words
are the ones they dub over in TV showings of Hollywood movies.

The UK TV version of Lethal Weapon is responsible for "maggot farmer" and "muddy funster", two phrases my friends and I still use occassionally.

And Aliens has the Bill Paxton classic, "Freakin' A!"
