It's the guys in the tool belts
Not the girls with Microsoft eyes.
It's the trucks towing lawn mowers,
Not the Wall Street sharks.
It's the Man with the Mop,
Not the man with the plan.
It's the girl with the burger,
Not the high heeled socialite.
It's the core.
It's the heart.
It's the soul.
Of America.
Not the policy makers.
Not the law givers.
Not the elected.
These are the heart, soul and core of America.
They till our fields, They butcher our meat, They wipe our children's asses.
These are Americans.
These are the people that stand on the corner, Nurse beers in the bar.
These are the people, That fight our wars.
These are the people, That Listen to Rush.
These are the people, That try To make ends meet.
Once upon a time, They dreamed of College to be a doctor a writer a spaceman.
And money ran out.
and now they dream of power they will never have
and dream of Microsoft eyes and dream of life without want
as talking heads tell them it is coming
as long as you keep cleaning my toilet.
These are the heart, the soul and core of America.
Living on the scraps they're fed.
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
To Awake.
And look into those Microsoft Eyes And say it's over.
