Monster of the Milky Way: astronomers compete to prove a supermassive black hole lies in the center of our own galaxy.

The Deadliest Plane Crash: an investigation into the collision of two 747s in the Canary Islands that killed 583 people.

Wings of Madness: The life of aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont and his descent into madness.

Family that Walks on All Fours: The story of five sibilings in Turkey who walk on all fours and the scientific explanation of their strange impairment.

The Manhunt for Bin Laden: this episode interviews experts leading the hunt, explores the frictions between the US and Pakistan and takes viewers to the tribal areas where Bin Laden is reputed to be hiding.
The Enemy Within: an investigation of the domestic counterterrorism effort, including continued inter-agency rivalry and troubling flaws in intelligence operations.

Living Old: this episode investigates if an already overburdened healthcare system will be able to meet the needs of an ever-growing elderly population.

Gay in Spokane: this episode explores the methods a newspaper used to expose the mayor of Spokane, Washington as a homosexual who sought relationships with young men online.

The Gold Rush: The story of the California Gold Rush of 1848.

Casanova: A new miniseries featuring Europe’s most notorious lover.

Prime Suspect VII: The final installment of the acclaimed series, starring Helen Mirren as detective Jane Tennison.

To the Ends of the Earth: a miniseries adaptation of William Golding’s epic sea trilogy, it follows the ship’s gruff crew and colorful passengers on their disaster-laden voyage from England to Australia.

1. Thanks for the advance notice!
I keep hoping they'll duplicate things like 1900 House, Pioneer House, and the one on London during the Blitz. The one on the cowboys and the cattle drive fell flat: there is no way in the world you could duplicate the scale today.

Some of those things look good, though, especially Frontline, the only real in depth news program anywhere in the US.

Like Jeff Greenfield's?

do they have ANY labor-related shows on every week?

just kidding about the last. I know they don't, and never will, especially now.

And I'm fortunate to be in a market that HAS to have the worst local outlet in the country: WTTW, in which they run the SAME show three times each night.
