Die-bold inadvertently admits that CA Bilbray/Busby race not legit!

In today's WaPo article about the vulnerability of electronic voting machines to fraud, Die-bold had the following comments:

Voting machine vendors have dismissed many of the concerns, saying they are theoretical and do not reflect the real-life experience of running elections, SUCH AS HOW VOTING MACHINES ARE KEPT IN A SECURE ENVIRONMENT.

"It just isn't the piece of equipment," said David Bear, a spokesman for Diebold Election Systems, one of the country's largest vendors. "It's all the elements of an election environment that make for a secure election."

MACHINES TAKEN HOME BY POLL WORKERS IN RECENT BILBRAY/BUSBY ELECTION: DOES THIS MEAN THAT DIE-BOLD IS AGREEING THE CA ELECTION COULD HAVE BEEN TAMPERED WITH SINCE THE MACHINES WERE NOT KEPT IN A SECURE ENVIRONMENT AND THE MACHINES WERE TAKEN HOME BY POLL WORKERS?

19. I hope they finally listen. It should be a major issue this
year. If they choose to remain ignorant, or complicit, we are lost.

I'm sending it to my reps, even though it's scumtorum and roll-over Specter. Even my congressman here is a puketard. English, 3rd - the human carp.

Can't hurt, but doubt it will help with them idjuts!

6. So, it has been proven again and again and again, machines can be hacked.

Can we stop calling it a conspiracy theory, now?

And, will the dems FINALLY address the issue?

14. It is so strange the resistance to believing proven fact

This adminstration has never conspired to anything...

They didn't deliberately conspire to mislead the American public to go to war.

They didn't deliberately conspire to spy on Americans without Congressional oversight.

They didn't deliberately conspire to slander every political leader who disagreed with their policies (democrat AND republican).

The evidence is there proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that they did do all of those things. Yet, people still cower and distance themselves so not to be labeled 'extremist liberals'.

Too bad more people haven't caught on that EVERYONE of EVERY political stripe is a 'extremist liberal' when dissenting from this adminstration's criminality and empirical, dictatorial doctrine.

years ago. I think it became useless after the Kennedy assassination.

We have to "vote" on this issue every time we get the chance. If we don't have free, democratic elections we no longer exist as the USA.

9. Get THIS: OUR voting machines were stored at a OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY
warehouse for safe keeping! OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY IS A RW WING, FUNDIE UNIVERSITY! How do I know OLIVET Computer geeks didn't work their magic on those machines? The OLIVET students ALSO 'assisted' the election workers the day of the Illinois primary. THEN, after the damn election, the machines were taken BACK TO THE OLIVET UNIVERSITY'S WAREHOUSE FOR STORAGE. I don't like it ONE BIT. You can't tell me Kankakee County doesn't have a warehouse to store these damn machines.

Am I being paranoid?

10. No, you are NOT being paranoid.

Election machines need to be stored in a place that is STRICLY non-partisan. This means the housing can not be funded by any political group (should come out of a state election fund).

This just begs the larger question. Why on earth do we allow machines to used that are so incredibly vulnerable that ONE person with access can change the results for an entire state?

The dems need to LEAD on this issue, NOW. It is grossly unfair to their constituents to let this situation stand without protest while asking them for time, money, and support.

Write your reps and senators with the article link, and DEMAND action. This is BEYOND ludicrous. It is totally INSANE.

11. Lou Dobbs is "on the case" - they best watch out......
He has seemed rather peeved at the lack of coverage of these issues and seems prepared to tackle it himself. If he does, this issue finally takes off. Period.

I'd sure love to see someone besides Olbermann, Stweart and Colbert take this on.

17. The only secure environment for a computer is..
Sealed in a 1000 foot block of concrete. If even 1 person has access, the computer is not secure.

If Diebold doesn't know that, they shouldn't be in the voting machine business.
