Yesterday, when this story broke it countained this key sentence:
Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when officials found the drugs, among them Viagra. The story linked from the top of this thread has now been changed when you click through:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2357568And every version of the story I can find now mentions only viagra!? Assuming the initial report was not wrong, what were the other drugs? Everyone knows how any sexual element of a news story can eclipse the other facts so perhaps Rush's pseudo embarrassment and joking over the viagra is a red herring designed to make the more potentially damaging part of this story go away. When the Oxycontin story broke, it ALSO mentioned "other painkilling drugs" but the oxycontin became the focus of that charge.
It is possible that the initial report was wrong but news entities are fairly careful and often err on the side of under-alleging when reporting on crimes committed by celebs who keep lawyers on retainer for these situations.
Edit to add:
In the prior arrest (2003), Limbaugh had
"an inordinate abundance of painkillers, OxyContin, Lorcet, Norco, Hydrocodone and Kadian, the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, the cholesterol-lowering drug Niacin, and Clonodine" . Many of which were multiple prescriptions from multiple doctors. The full list is here:
