Official "What's Your Weather Like?" thread
We've got floods in the NE, massive fires in the SW and Midwest, and record heat in Portland.

Somebody please tell me their weather is normal for this time of year. Please?

2. I'll tell ya... Northwest Minnesota is BEAUTIFUL and normal.
It was high of 80 today, it's 75 right now and the humidity is a little tad higher than usual but it's all bout what it's supposed to be.

It's a little dry, but we had a great rain yesterday.

4. Michigan!
We are having a Michigan summer like the best I remember from childhood--warm sunny mornings, afternoon showers, cool nights. Not too anything. But then, I never liked really hot weather anyway. But you can swim in this.

They predicted Thunderstorms all week, but nothing. It's like the weather is constipated or something. The humidity just won't break. Ugh - it's like trudging through mud.

62. Isn't it awful?
The humidity just hangs over you. The weather can't decide what it's gonna do. One minute it's sunny, the next the clouds are back. Yesterday morning was pretty bad though, it was raining pretty bad and my umbrella was a casualty of the strong winds.

The weather here in Atlanta Metro is normal THIS week, but last week...
...they imposed High level drought water restrictions, but then we got hit with some major thunder storms, so they eased the restrictions again.

But really, June was very dry this year.

Here's a weather warnings map: <http://www.storm2k.nhcwx.com/hw3.php?forecast=pass&pass=warningmap&s=us&size=640x480&key=0>

Here's a link to the Drought map, but for some reason, it's not working right now: <http://www.storm2k.org/wx/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=105>

old-fashioned summer, not unlike the ones we used to have back in the '70s and '80s. The past few years have been warmer than normal, but this spring was about two weeks later than last year's, we've had just slightly above average amounts of rain, and the temperature is very pleasant mid-60s here in Anchorage. I'm loving it.

This year my wonderful, amazing dog died (January). I told my husband that this year I need a garden; something to take care of since my doggie died. He helped me do it. We planted a lot, and all of it was growing beautifully. I harvested serrano peppers last week...

Cue to Tuesday. A freak hail/windshear storm leveled my garden. I mean leveled it. Looks like a bunch of deciduous trees in fall with no leaves...most everything sheared off.

So that's what my personal weather is like. It sucks. I'm downriver in Michigan if anyone is counting. :-)

Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 12:00 AM by mnhtnbb
In April, we had no rain, and were behind on average yearly rainfall 5-6 inches.
It was so hot (80's, which is not normal) and dry that we turned our sprinklers on so the azaleas would bloom on our naturalized, wooded, hillside
lot.

Now, in June, we've made up our drought shortfall in the space of 10 days when June is not normally a rainy month.

We got lucky last week and hit an 1 1/4 of rain. So dry you didn't even notice a difference. Its been warm here all year, with a record month in Feb.

We got lucky last week and hit an 1 1/4 of rain. So dry you didn't even notice a difference. Its been warm here all year, with a record month in Feb.

We bought this house and each year the summers seem drier and drier.

My father who farms about 70 miles south of KC is really worried about having enough of a Hay crop for his cattle this fall and winter. Speaking of my dad, in his lifetime he says the temperature has changed alot. When I was born 30 years ago they had to wrap the pipes in our old house to keep them from freezing, doesn't get anywhere near that cold here anymore.

70. Beautiful Morning Headed For The East
From here in West Virginia, where we get the same weather as the rest of the East, only we get it sooner and we get it worse, it is a beautiful morning. Temperature is in the upper 60's, a very slight breeze, not a cloud in the sky, the humidity is low. The dew will be off the grass in another hour and it will get hot, but for now I think I'll wake up a couple of the dogs and take a walk in the woods. Today's work can wait a little while ....

73. Nice here in west TX
Just had a 4 inch rain last week, that puts us at 14 inches so far, our normal for the year is 14-16. Looks like it's going to be another wet year for west TX. Highs have been in the high 80's to low 90's, the average this time of year is usually high 90's to low 100's. This makes 3 wet years in a row for us, 04 we got 44 inches, 05 we got 23 inches and this year looks like another 20+ year.

80. which west texas is that?
I thought WT had a very dry year in '05. My dad's farm in Sylvester (near Sweetwater) didn't get nearly enough rain and he had to plow over all of his wheat.

76. Monday was a record, I think
about 90 in Seattle. Since then it's just warm - high 70s, low 80s. Our weather is variable this time of year, although it usually rains on July 4th.

lately it hasn't been unbelievably hot (as usual), but I expect the heat waves to come back soon.
