NYT Was Completly Over the Line
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 11:51 PM by Jason9612
They should not have done what they did by releasing confidential information like that. I'm sorry, but it's just not right, and it only helps better inform those that which to hurt this country. First Amendment my ***. I wouldnt mind it if Congress scolded them for going too far. </sarcasm>

4. Funny, I thought normally it's the bank records that are confidential
I'm still confused - I thought the early word was that there was some dragnet going through millions of records, not the narrowly targeted anti-terror subpoenas we already knew existed. But like, whatever.

You did notice how the data's being cross-checked with unconstitutionally obtained NSA databases of domestic phone calls, right?

12. It does get confusing as W searches for a needle in a haystack
All financial transactions of $10,000 or more must be reported to the government. Been that way for many years.

...a strong government cracks down on it's free press and requires them to vet their stories before they run them.

22. above all....

a strong government with a qualified real leader would NEVER HAVE TO "Crack Down" on any press. Freedom of the Press was established by this country's founders and was appropriately made a part of the Constitution of the United States. A strong government does not do what this fake, illegal, murderous excuse for leadership would do.

This information was out there before this article was published. They did nothing wrong. In fact, they are just now catching up to what they should've been doing which is letting the American people know more about the laws they were violating. I hope you were really being sarcastic....

33. Jason, seriously
If you're trying to be funny, you'll need to give some indication on this.

If this is truly your opinion, you're entitled to it. I disagree, but you're still entitled. You've been around here long enough to know the difference between posting to inflame and posting your opinion while backing up your beliefs. So far, there's not been any justification for your 'opinion' in the OP. Absent that, there is only one conclusion.
