1. good catch
the bushit media spins it so that the more loaded terms are used incorrectly. Only civilians are kidnapped, troops are captured, not vice versa.

2. Words are important,
it's odd that when two americans soldiers went missing in Iraq a couple of weeks ago, the MSM and the WH starting using the word kidnapped.

I have been told now for three years we are at war, and the middle east is the battle ground. We are fighting this war with tanks, plans, soldiers, etc, etc, so why have these two soldiers been kidnapped why were they not taken as prisoners of war?

Well the only thing i can figure is prisoner's of wars is a Geneva Convention term, and we (USA) no longer fight wars under the geneva convention. So words matter, we need to alway try and use the right word to describe the situation.

3. I turned NPR off this morning when...
I turned NPR off this morning when their reporter started
discussing how the Israelis had "arrested" about 80 Palestinians
(including 20 members of the Hamas government) in retaliation
for the "kidnapping" of one Israeli soldier.

"Yeah, right. The Israelis 'arrest' while the Palestinians
'kidnap'."

Well, that's NPR for you.

Tesha
