What is the deal with this Bush quote? (re: SCOTUS decision)
"To the extent there is latitude to work with the Congress to determine whether or not the military tribunals will be an avenue in which to give people their day in court, we will do so," Bush said.

I'm baffled. Didn't the court just rule that the military tribunals were against the law? If so, is Bush basically saying he might still do them? Or am I misunderstanding his comment?

1. The court told him the STRUCTURE of the tribunals was wrong

I think the quote itself is just another convaluted attempt at a coherent sentence by King Malaprop.

2. the court said he couldn't do
what he is doing "without" congressional approval. So he'll go to his lapdog congress and get exactly what he wants and maybe more.

5. He can go to congress and try to get the laws changed
to benefit him. The little twerp says he's going to do this.

Personally I expect him to write another signing statement that puts the SC on the same footing with the congress...........null and void.

6. "Whether or not" seem to be thr key words in this
If Congress agrees that there is "latitude", they will possibly give people a court appearance. I guess if Congress doesn't cooperate, then they won't "do so".
