Bush still hoping for Guatanamo military trials
54 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US President George W. Bush said a US Supreme Court ruling on the fate of Guantanamo Bay detainees would not set any suspected terrorists free and that he still hoped to try them in military courts.

"We will analyze the decision. To the extent that the Congress is given any latitude to develop a way forward using military tribunals, we will work with them," said Bush. "I want to find a way forward."

His remarks came during a joint appearance with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi following a US Supreme Court ruling that Bush overstepped his powers in setting up military tribunals for detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

The high court, in a 5-3 vote, said the administration violated the Geneva Conventions and the US military code of justice in ordering a military tribunal to prosecute Salim Ahmed Hamdan, a Yemeni and former driver for Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

1. Bush is The Decider. He doesn't have to abide by the SCOTUS decision.
Who the hell do they think they are, anyway? Things at Gitmo will go forward as planned all along, he will feign cooperation, but in his Secret Society Administration, they know how to bury things...

2. Mr.bush is the Analyzer.
So yes, this means they will get trials. But we will try to figure out a way around it. Because he's the Analyzer.

3. Analyze the decision???? Congress given any latitude???
Just as I expected, King George will not abide by the SCOTUS's ruling. He will continue to do as he wishes; maybe going through the motions of having HIS Congress sanction what he's already been doing.

Would someone please STOP this man?

4. You can BET Consiglieri Gonzales in on the case..
He's hard at work, fashioning a "work around" so that his boss can continue to do whatever the hell he wants to, whenever the hell he wants, to whoever the hell he wants...
