Awkward moments abound in penis pump trial By SHAUN SCHAFER, Associated Press Writer

BRISTOW, Okla. - Serving on the jury in an indecent-exposure trial unfolding in this conservative Oklahoma town has been a giggle-inducing experience.

Former Judge Donald D. Thompson, a veteran of 23 years on the bench, is on trial on charges he used a penis pump on himself in the courtroom while sitting in judgment of others.

Over the past few days, the jurors have watched a defense attorney and a prosecutor pantomime masturbation. A doctor has lectured on the lengths the defendant was willing to go to enhance his sexual performance.

4. I thought he was using it for medical reasons (however inappropriately)

Thompson took the stand in his own defense, saying the device was a gag gift...He said he kept the pump under the bench or in his office but didn't use it. "In 20-20 hindsight, I should have thrown it away," he said."

Thompson's former court reporter...described tracing an unfamiliar "sh-sh" in the courtroom to her boss. She testified that between 2001 and 2003 she saw Thompson expose himself at least 15 times....

...(A) police officer who was in Thompson's court heard pumping sounds and took photos of the device during a break in the proceedings....

There is absolutely positively NO EXCUSE for ANYONE to use such a device in a public setting, especially when courtroom security is even less of a laughing matter. He's lucky his pump wasn't mistaken for a some kind of weapon. But why did the court personnel put up with it for two years?

10. If only the judge had thought to ask Rush Limbaugh for advice...
he could have mixed himself up an Republicon Oxycontin-Viagara Cocktail, and avoid all these pump problems...

11. You have to understand
Oklahoma when it comes to this trial. Any news that is located below the Bible Belt is real news. We have this story on every morning and every night as if this was the worse thing in the world. It should never have gone anywhere. Plea bargain it have him retire and send him on his way with his pump.

22. The crap wives have to take from their husbands
Some don't, most do. Women work harder at a relationship. Sometimes we men-folk don't know how fortunate we are.

we are horndogs who barely keep it in our pants most of the time. Of course, the problem isn't usually quite this literal...

27. Prior to coming onto the bench, he served 6 yrs. in OK House of Rep.
When I googled this guy's name, I got over 160 hits. One of them , to which I won't give the link because it's basically soft porn, it had some very spicy details.

Thompson's lawyers have been trying to suppress 180 hours of courtroom tapes they said contained the whooshing sound of the pump in use, but the motion was rejected.

"Prior to becoming a judge he served six years in the state House of Representatives starting in 1975, where he frequently spoke out against gays."

So anyone from Oklahoma know which political party he was representing? Since the local papers I've looked at so far don't mention a party, I figure he's GOP.
