Michael Smerconish on Tweety:
Penis-head is a total loser who has a 'show' on 'The Big Talker' 1210 AM, (the local RW station featuring Rush and other 'luminaries') here in Philly. He's a double-digit I.Q. wannabe, who's lucky enough to get into Matthews' pants, so to speak (maybe), and has made a pseudotransition into mainstream media panels and debates, that is if you want to call arguments between Far-right fascists and ultra-right fascists arguments. On his show, you can hear him suck up to anyone registered Rethug who deigns to appear to promote their book or new cooking device. He's a walking sex toy and needs to be ignored full-time.

The shame of it is that 1210 used to be a first class talk radio station in the SIXTIES, believe it or not. A few intellectuals used to appear along with the usual argumentative shmegeggies, but this dickhead couldn't carry the water of even the morans who used to be on in those days.

7. jack mckinney? who's he? see below, btw
the Sturdy Beggars used to have a show on 1210, and I heard them one night

listened to them for awhile, till they were taken off the air

they're a pair of brothers from Philadelphia....very liberal, very funny, and they really antagonized the 'normal' WPHT listeners/ownership, who couldn't handle their presence, despite their popularity. sound familiar?

12. McKinney...
You guys here would have loved him. He was a progressive liberal, not nuts or anything, he was an expert on boxing and opera, and used to be a sportwriter for years, and then began writing a political column. Like Novak except with brains (I believe Novacula was a sports writer first, in Chicago)

4. and...you couldnt' be more correct about Smerconish.
what an embarrassment he was today, as always, on tweety

why does he always having raving ideologues like that guy and Cato Burn (thanks to another DUer for that), who just foam at the mouth, instead of attempting logical discourse

contrast that to the two "liberals" on opposing them: Robinson, who basically just sat there, and Oliphant, who, very quietly, unassumingly made his points, when he was allowed to get a word in edgewise

neither liberal attempted to correct the myriad LIES issuing forth from the others, and that's the saddest part...that they just lie and lie and lie, and there's never any consequence

6. Ratings, man, ratings.
Tweety should actually be called "Foamy" like the dog in the old National Lampoon comic strip about the Canadians...I forget the name.

3. Tweety is helping to build him into a name to help his brother's campaign
in Pennsylvania. That's why Tweety will prop up Bush and the GOP senate and congress, because the better their numbers are by November, the better chance his brother will have to be Lt. Governor.

5. The Swann/Tweety Jr. ticket...
is gonna get blown out of the water by Rendell, and I'm gonna tell you why IMO.

I have it on good authority that the Rethugs put up Swann so that Rendell wouldn't have to get out the vote wholesale in the 5 counties of the Philly suburbs, and thus defeat Rickey Retardo for Senate handily.

What is important however, is that Rendell wants a Federal job, so to speak, and to be considered for VP. he must deliver PA for Rickey's opponent, Mr. Casey. So tough noogies on the move - Swann's candidacy is going to be obliterated in November. i can just see those folks in central PA voting for a black guy...they barely can tolerate that there is a non-practicing Jew in the State House.

17. His ratings are down, the idea has been floated previously...
re his running -- it's unlikely, but I'm certain Tweets has a Plan B (unlike his idol) in the event his show tanks and according to recent reports here, it's in a dive the last quarter.

18. In the 70's
Chris Matthews ran for the US Congress from Philadelphia as a Democrat, lost to the incumbent in the primary. He worked for President Carter for 4 years, Tip O'Neill for 6 and also for Muskie and had started with Moss (Utah). Before that he was in the Peace Corps.

Don't ask me what happened.

bidding and catapulting the propaganda.

16. Smerconish accused the left of "hatriolic" behavior
This was when Coulter's book first came out. I thought I heard incorrectly, and then my husband just starting laughing because he heard the same thing. No wonder Michael loves Georgie-Porgie so much. They suffer from the same language impairment.

25. That's the butt-plug's name...
See, I believe, speaking of James Bond, in Sean Connery's Cop role in The Untouchables: they come at you with their fists, you use a club...they come at you with a knife, you use a gun...

I believe in howitzers for these bastards...

26. It saddens me that
neither of the progressives on the show (and I dearly love Oliphant) made the point that nothing that the Times said was classified information. They lost that round badly.
