Kinda gets you in the mood for:

I am off to find the menu and guest list.

2. Question?
At what point (obviously AFTER the top photo was taken) do the WH staffers attach the little tags to Bush's silverware, as in: "soup spoon", "salad fork", "fish knife" and "Frito-pie scooper-upper"?

Just wonderin' ...

17. Georgie eating with chopsticks!
Now THAT'S a photo-op video I would actually PAY TO SEE!

Of course, it would have to include the disclaimer:

{Warning: Several White House staffers and distinguished guests WERE harmed in the making of this film.)

Ah, those were the days when we were only occasionally embarrassed by our president.

Bush and Koizumi sing diplomatic duet

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060629/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_koizumi_love_fest_1

WASHINGTON - It's not everyday that two world leaders croon to each other, "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You."

But clearly President Bush has special feelings for Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, and he put them on full display from morning until night Thursday at the White House.

The love fest began with an elaborate welcoming ceremony on the South Lawn and an exchange of gifts inside afterward. Koizumi gave the sports-loving president a bike and an enlarged version of the Japanese postage stamp that features Babe Ruth. The Bushes gave the Elvis-loving prime minister a refurbished 1954 jukebox that includes 25 songs by his favorite singer.

"Prime Minister Koizumi searched the keys and found `I Want You, I Need You, I Love You,'" first lady Laura Bush said. "He and the president sang a duet."

7. Unless it's the camera angle...
the floral arrangement seems to obscure half the people at the table. Surely a WH florist would know better to to plop a 'bush' in the middle like that? 'Course, I'd rather look at a 'bush' than a Bush!

8. Mmmmmm, chocolate bonsai.

No offense to the chef. They worked hard to create the food. The offense is for chucklenuts and his cronies who really won't appreciate it.

It looks like you can only see those seated in your immediate line of sight. Bush :hide: at a state dinner - then top it off after eats and treats with I'm All Shook Upas a toast to the Supreme Court deservedly slapping * and telling him you have over reached. Yep, it's most definitely party time.

12. It looks like you have to kinda duck your head to see across the table
Those things look like lime green trees on top of a fifties prom dress used as a tablecloth.

Hey, I don't know much about table fashions, but I think that set-up looks DAWG ugly.

Leaders dine on she crab soup

US President George W. Bush and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi were to dine overnight on a four-course feast featuring Texas Kobe beef, which has proved to be a staple every time the leaders eat together.

At an official dinner overnight, the two leaders were to dine on Maryland she crab soup, with crackling Fishers Island Oysters, washed down with a Clos Pegase Chardonnay, according to a menu released by the White House.

The main course was Texas Kobe beef with cracked black pepper, shiitake mushroom jus, silver corn pilaf and sesame-coated wild asparagus, with a Ridge zinfandel.

That was to be followed by a jicama-cucumber chiffonade, with lemon vinaigrette, and finally "sweet serenity, a bonsai garden" with almond parfait and kumquat-stuffed cherries, coupled with an Iron Horse classic vintage brut.

21. They always seem to serve roast beef with a fancy name
Apparently, * isn't an adventurous eater. Whenever a menu is reported, the main course always seems to be "saddle of (some sort of) beef, "medallions of (some sort of) beef. What he really likes is hamburgers.

20. You know who's playing, right?
The Brian Setzer Orchestra!

That Koizumi loves his American Kitsch.

I'm a little bummed that Setzer's doing the gig. I know him from the Bloodless Pharaohs days on LI. No doubt, he's gettin' good and paid.
