But I'm sure she'd say she was doing in-depth research on the enemy. Oh, and she didn't inhale.

4. Yeah, I don't get it either. She must've missed the part about
"aint no time to hate".

And I swear I have a hazy memory, buried deep in the recesses of my damaged synapses, of getting in an argument with some screeching blonde right-wing harpie who had made some snarky comment about my political bumperstickers in the parking lot of some late-80s dead show, maybe Alpine Valley or some such place. It HAD to have been her.

7. Yes! And according to a friend of mine who was a serious Deadhead...
...she used to party in the parking lot at Dead shows, where she would emulate this piece of equipment;

11. Bullshit. And I can prove it.
from the interview:

AC: I used to keep all my ticket stubs from Dead shows – it was just something Deadheads did, like keeping lists of songs – but I didn't know why. So, in a lunatic cleaning frenzy around 1990, I threw them all out

How many 'heads out there threw away all those precious stubs?

I never kept them in the first place, but if I had I would not have thrown them away.

This is a dodge to keep from having to prove her bullshit.

Kind of like * liking the Beatles "before they went psychedelic". The idiot was probably listening to Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.

12. Does ann not understand the lyrics when she listens to the songs?
Look at who else she claims to listen to.

TH: Are there any other jambands you like?

AC: All the usual – String Cheese Incident, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, New Potato Caboose. I can't really tell you all the groups I like because have an iPod so have a lot of songs my friends send me and I never really know who I'm listening to. But I try to keep up with what the young people are listening to these days (I love saying that). There’s Jet, Cake, Outkast, 50 Cent, Black-Eyed Peas, Lord Alge, Beck, Kanye West (I like his Jesus song), Missy Elliot, and Eagles of Death Metal. I'm five years behind, aren't I? I'm very busy!

15. I found that list quite interesting.
Quite a bunch of bullshit too, no one has that eclectic of tastes. Guess she listened to the Dead exclusively in her youth, huh?

28. Plenty of people have taste that eclectic, actually.
My own musical tastes cover a lot of ground (more than the modest and not that diverse list given by Ms. Coulter, in fact...I hate the Grateful Dead, though).

Beck nor Missy Elliot would be very big ann coulter enthusiasts, either!

17. John Perry Barlow Has Always Been A Republican
He wrote a lot of lyrics for the Dead in their later years. His dad was a Republican senator from Wyoming, so I guess it's not so strange.

One thing for sure, the Dead transcended politics, and you didn't have to parrot a political party line to take part.

20. honestly alot of the preppy kids I went to college with went to dead shows
and I bet an awful lot of them are registered republicans and play golf on the weekends with their corporate buddies now. For alot of people The Grateful Dead are a lifestyle but for a lot of rich college kids they are a phase. I've seen it so many times.

the Dead were about sex, drugs, rock and roll and the right to live your life without anyone coming down on you.

How the hell is that Republican?

25. Rightwingers have no claim to rock and roll
Sorry. Their whole modern day movement is BORN out of sixties hatred.

They are the ANTITHESIS of rock and roll.

None of them have a claim to this music. It was born out of protest and anti establishment artistic creativity.

Rock and roll is OURS. Not theirs. They can fuck off and listen to Wagner.

there is no way that is an interview with ann coulter. it's poorly written....the answers don't even sounds remotely the way coulter would answer them.

coulter is no deadhead.

But google coulter and grateful dead. dozens of old and new hits.

It's old news. heck, coulter even links to that interview from her own website!

It makes sense really. rightwing nutjubs would have almost nobody to listen to or see if they only enjoyed those that they agreed with.

which also explains why they can ignore other's points of view so easily.
