Clarence Thomas -- chickenhawk

American Constitution Society:

In the Hamdan decision,] Justice Thomas refers to Justice Stevens' "unfamiliarity with the realities of warfare"; but Stevens served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945, during World War II. Thomas's official bio, by contrast, contains no experience of military service.

1. Thomas is the judge considered the most "activist"
He follows the hard line ultra right wing conservative political thought and then rules.

In no way, has he ever been considered a scholar. He demeans the USSC.

7. Thurgood Marshall would be embarrassed by Clarence Thomas
Now there was a giant as first African American on the SCOTUS. Who could have predicted that the man chosen to fill his shoes would be so small by comparison?

Clarence Thomas's bio reveals a man helped by others at every turn -- not in a bad way, you know, but a lot of people supported him as child and man. Yet he's the type of person who stands on the shoulders of giants and believes he is 12 feet tall. If he had enough money, he'd pass for a Bush in that regard.

And chickenhawks -- one defining trait of the true chickenhawk is the delusion that HE understands what war is all about, and periodically he sticks his foot in his mouth in the presence of combat veterans.

All this regardless of color, mind you. It's just all the more pathetic that he happens to be Thurgood Marshall's replacement. Kind of like putting the lightweight Harriet Myers up to replace Sandra Day O'Conner.

3. Wasn't he once accused of saying...
"Long dong silver..." to Anita Hill? You we ought to presume guilt before it is proven, just like he did in his opinion.

4. Clarence Thomas is a filthy little election stealer
whose nose is shoved so far up Bush's ass, it's a joke.

5. This needs to be seen by veterans.

The article has a nice way to saying that bush is seeking dictatorial power.

The Court’s decision to rest its holding on the Milligan/Youngstown vision of separate branches, sharing powers represents an important blow to the present Administration’s campaign to accumulate the powers to make laws, enforce laws, and then punish those it deems in violation of those laws

8. No need to apologize--I understand.As a human being,he embarrasses me
See my post #7.

It makes it even worse for me that I believed Anita Hill, and still do. During those hearings I kept yelling at the senators on the tv, "That's DOCTOR Hill you idiots! PROFESSOR Hill!" They kept talking down to her as "Miss Hill," which if you come from academia you know is belittling to a person who has earned a PhD. They always remembered to call HIM by his title.

Color has nothing to do with my dislike for the man -- well, except I had hoped he would grow in the office, and he seems to have shrunk, still believing he achieved everything on his own and owes nothing back to the community.
