1,300 Rats

PETALUMA, California (AP) -- A man who had 1,300 rats removed from his home by animal control officers said that he originally bought several as pets, but that they were "a force of nature" that soon bred out of control.

Roger Dier, who was cited for misdemeanor animal cruelty, told The Press Democrat of Santa Rosa, that depression and loneliness kept him from controlling his fast-breeding population of pet rats.

"I did not set out to do this," he told newspaper. "I do acknowledge irresponsibility and there's a case for laziness, denial, incompetence and just plain foolishness."

"It was this force of nature that overwhelmed me," he said.

It started four years ago when Dier bought a baby rat to feed his pet Indian python, he told the newspaper. When he saw the creature squeaking for its life, he did not have the heart to let it become a snack, he said.

11. No, you were right, BEN was the SEQUEL
It got more play because of the Michael Jackson song....

I had a few gray haired old aunties who just loved that tune. When I told them it was about a rat, they were horrified...but they still liked the song!

7. I hate fucking rats
Killing the pesky bastards has been one of the more pleasurable things. They have cause several thousands of dollars of damage to my house that I am in the process of repairing. After I found out about them and the damage they had done the hunting them was the easy part.

1,300 that is a BIG number, It only took 10 or twelve to ruin my day. The effing fool anyway, heaven knows if there were some of the others ran off too. Them neighbors must be pissed

Mostly the rats in picture of the article look mostly half tame. Them wild effers at my house were nothing like them tame ones. Sneaky and mean, hard for a cat to catch and even almost smart enough to trick humans. And I still hate rats

I know how he feels about that..

I had a fish tank with a small oscar in it.

I set up a second tank for feeder guppies

I dropped some of the feeder guppies in with the oscar, and the guppies started racing around madly with the oscar hot on their tails.

In my head I could "hear" screaming from the guppies. I ended up scooping them out and putting them into their own tank. The oscar got other non-screaming goodies to eat
