METEGHAN — Const. Jason Tree said he and his fiance, Const. David Connors, have hardly had time to prepare for their wedding with all the phone calls they’ve been fielding.
"There’s been a lot of interest," Const. Tree said Thursday.
He said media from all over North America have been hounding the couple that is set to have the first same-sex Mountie wedding Friday in Yarmouth. Since the couple appeared on the front page of The Chronicle Herald in May, phone calls have been coming in daily from media and film crews that want to attend the wedding.
Const. Tree and Const. Connors are asking the media to stay away from the private affair.
"Our plan is not to have any media there because we want to have a good time that evening with family and friends. Unfortunately interviews with the media doesn’t really flow with the event," said Const. Tree.
