Our Flag Was Still There
Flags are symbols. They are ideas. They are a visual representation of all that we can be, good or bad.

You can't destroy a symbol. Burn down a church... another is built. Burn a flag, another proudly waves.

Burning a symbol is a way to protest, and exercize ones right to free speech. Free speech being another one of those crazy "ideas" in the constitution. Banning flag burning is = to banning free speech. They are equal, and therefore protected as a right in the constitution.

Burning a flag does not kill the idea of America. Banning free speech does.

I would die for someone's right to burn the flag.

1. A Flag is a piece of cloth
IMO, all those men who died to "Protect the Colors" died wasted lives. Values & Morals are worth protecting but in our crazy world we have a tendency to misattach those vales to the symbol. And then the symbol takes becomes that which it is suppossed to represent. The symbol is meaningless a Flag is nothing but a piece of cloth.

And I burn the Flag to make those who venerate the power of the Government to Rule and Abuse the people upset...

2. We're not burning flags over here, they're burning them over there.
That statement actually from a Republican friend of mine.

Shows how out of step the guys in Washington are with the people.

3. I have no problem with it as long as it's their own flag burnt...
If not there are already laws on the books to deal with the act.
