CNN runs story about woman marrying a dolphin as America slowly dies
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 02:08 PM by Vinnie From Indy
The gargantuan corporate media outlets continue with ever greater fervor in serving their BushCo masters. If it isn't fear and violence it is pure nonsense.

The twin messages of "fear" and "violence" delivered in a dizzying array graphics, sound bites and visual images are whipped together to become an electronic crack pipe for the masses to be anesthetized and led to the slaughter. The amazing thing is that they seem to have dropped all pretense of actually reporting real news.

1. this is an insightful post
God. Nobidies ever suggested on Democratic Underground that aren't as important as the key news of the day. This is really a first.

4. ssshhhh... don't wake Cornyn...
Dear Abby,

I've been married to a box turtle for some time now. It's a long story how this happened.

But now I've just discovered that my spouse is a MALE box turtle. Ogden Nash is correct it is hard to tell the sex of such animals. It took me five years.

So, much to my dismay, I'm involved in a gay box turtle union. Do I go to a priest or a veterinarian for this problem?

Thank you for your advice.

Sincerely,
Turtle Inclined

17. How the hell did they get a marriage license?

And gay people STILL can't get married?

WTF?

10. I wandered by a TV and heard Kyra Philips discussing the story
They cut to a video of a woman in a bridal gown throwing fish to a dolphin and tehn jumping in the water with it.

19. But FIRST gays would be allowed to marry, then all this
would come later.

I guess they just skipped over gays having the right to marry and went directly to woman/dolphin marriages?

9. CNN is Crap Central
run by Entertainment Tonight wannabes who must think we`re all idiots. If even a hint of truth escapes into a report, some producer calls in forty-eleven talking heads to reroute the conversation to Bill Clinton,
Democratic freedom-haters or anti-war folks who don`t support the troops.

When I want real news, CNN is one of the last places I look. Given the horrific mess we`re in, I hardly have time for stories about someone marrying a dolphin. If I change my mind, I can borrow a comic book from the kid next door and just bypass CNN.

11. A pod of eight dolphins has been spotted in Lake Pontchartrain
If only this woman had married one of the Louisiana dolphins, we'd finally be able to get some sorely needed press for the Gulf Coast! :sarcasm:

K-A
just swam with dolphins Christmas Eve, but didn't marry any: both were males

12. Life imitates Sharyn McCrumb
"If I'd Killed Him When I Met Him..." features a woman-dolphin marriage; it dates back to 1996! What took this woman so long? :sarcasm: Hopefully the real-life marriage will not come to the same tragic end in which the dolphin accidentally drowns his new bride while horsing around with her in the pool!

14. Here you go -- and there's a twist...
...it happened in Israel! When will the right-wing MSM sock puppets start bashing those liberal, amoral Israelis who let the womenfolk go around marrying dolphins and box turtles and the like? :sarcasm:

http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2005/12/30/1135732715098.html

British tourist Sharon Tendler has finally made her dream match - by "marrying" a dolphin she has been visiting for 15 years in the Israeli resort of Eilat, the mass-circulation Yediot Ahronot daily reported today.

Ms Tendler, 41, has been visiting the city on the Gulf of Aqaba two or three times a year to spend time with her 35-year-old underwater sweetheart....

Last week, Ms Tendler finally plucked up the courage to ask the dolphin's trainer for the mammal's fin in marriage....

She kissed him, to the cheers of the spectators and then, after the ceremony was sealed with some mackerels, was tossed into the water so she could swim away with her new husband.

I thought he was supposed to get down on one fin and propose to her? :eyes: Also 35 is rather old for a dolphin; sadly, it appears that Ms. Tendler may be widowed fairly soon...
