How different will the political landscape be one year from today?
one year from today will be right after the elections, i wonder what will happen in the shiny new year of 06? will there be a republican meltdown brought on by bush fatigue? will dubya somehow turn it all around and make something amazing happen leaving us liberals standing slack jawed and drooling like we are now?

considering all the horrific neocon scenarios, any damn thing could happen and they hate losing, and they've gone to an awful lot of trouble to get where they are today, which makes them dangerously unstable, like their figurehead.

they'll either pull some fantastic stunt and leave us in the dust again, or the coming republican scandals and discoveries will cause their whole house of cards to collapse. either scenario is going to be dramatic, and fills one with dread.

1. good question
personally I think they're in much less danger than people tend to believe, and if they even pick up seats may launch an attack on the 22nd amendment and push more tax cuts.

King George. Coming to a theatre near you.

2. And with everybody voting on the new Diebolds, etc, the
Republicans are quite like to have a "surprise" sweep. I sure the corporate press will be able to explain unexpected turn of events.
