Important info for residents of Philly, D.C., Frisco, Baltimore and Cincy
Your football teams will be playing "in" New Orleans next year. Dates and places of the games will be announced in January. Officials hope that the Super Dome will be ready for games in November. Prior to that "home" games for the Saints will be played in San Antonio or Baton Rouge. So keep an eye on your teams schedules and make your plans accordingly.

New Orleans will also host the other teams in the NFC South, Atlanta, Tampa Bay and Carolina.

1. Much appreciated...only one thing:
Don't call it "Frisco."

Thank you.

3. I don't know the story. But our beloved Herb Caen
used to become very upset with people who used that term. :)

5. Zero offense...let me see if I can explain this pecularity of we locals.

We consider San Francisco almost sentient...a place but also a personality.

"Frisco" hardly conveys our welcoming style and warm hearts.

I guess that "Frisco" sounds a little harsh for the subtle, magical place that Herb Caen called "The cool, grey city of love."

Martinis. Cable cars climbing half way to the stars. One perfect resturant after another. The bay. The fog. The people. The history.

We love her...this Barbary Coast...so we never call the Grand Dame and the love of our life anything so undeserved of this gentle diva as "Frisco."

Did that make any sense?

(Might not have...we're kinda nuts here. We like to call San Francisco "Fourty-nine square miles surrounded by what the rest of the world calls 'reality.'")

(Edited to add cool, grey picture of our Lady of the Fog.)

6. I understand perfectly
There is a little town down this a way that is much more personality then place. And it has a few good restaurants as well. The Mississippi River runs through it, Jazz and the smell of beignets wafts out of it. Since the hurricane its residents are striving to return to abnormal. Its called Nawlins! Your post made perfect sense to me.

7. Yeah it's kinda like that...
When someone calls Nawlins New-Or-Leans You cock an eyebrow, eh? I've heard that in California The City is an acceptable unambiguous contraction because LA is well, LA, not Louzianna. ;)
