GOODBYE 2005
http://www.streamload.com/astonamous/EL/RGJYQL9H90/Alan_Parsons_Project-Old_And_Wise.mp3Old and Wise

Say goodbye to 2005, the year of death and destruction. a year of freedoms lost. It was a year of great loss to me personally and I know to many of you. When I look back at 2005 in my old age, I will shed tears for those lost by mother nature's anger and tears for those killed due to America's continued aggression around the world. I will shed a tear for my step-father, my uncle, Hunter S. Thompson, Johnny Carson, Ossie Davis, Rosa Parks, Richard Pryor and so many others. I will shed a tear for torture, for abandonment, and for racism. I will shed a tear for the animals who have no voice and for the earth that is forever changed because of human greed.

In 2006, I hope we can all come together and use one voice, the voice of reason and humanity, the voice of respect and dignity for all, to turn this world around and set it back on it's proper course. We all have to learn to live together and work for the common good of all living things, equally.

maybe each of can bring some sanity back to the insane. I also shed tears for the death and destruction that was brought upon us in 2005.

4. I love that picture too...it made me smile.
I picked these particular photos because of the emotion they brought. 2005 has been a long hard year. I hope 2006 will bring out more good than bad.

6. In 2006 may we say good riddance to Junior,
torture, the killing of innocent Iraqis, corporations running the country, election fraud, illegal spying, and so many other bad things that we had to live with this year.

Peace on Earth.

9. 2005 had me evacuating for Hurricane Rita...
it goes down as a frightening year...

The year we learned that our News Media was doing Bush's bidding and outing patriots like Plame

tHAT Delay and his cohorts would murder and steal from the Indians and whoever got in their way

that the Niger Documents were forged by us

That Bush was spying on Peace groups and 10000 US citizens

That we can deliver tsunami victims food and water but not our Katrina victims in the US...

That oil prices can go up to $3.00 a gallon

That Global Warming IS HAPPENING!!!

Iraq War is turned into a CIVIL WAR
It was a scary year

17. I know right where that is.
That used to be home for me. The nostalgia that picture brings.

Look at what someone made in a forum I frequent. It's also pretty powerful, in the same vein as a few posts on DU this morning.

19. Good Post!
I went to a restaraunt last night with my g/f, and the bartender (about 70 years old and the owner) saya, "how was your year?".

I say "pretty piss-poor" and he says "me too" and launches into how badly his business has been hurt etc. Then my girfriend adds the topper, "well I had 2 dogs and my mon die in 2005" - which is true.

We all started laughing. A sad/funny laugh at that.

22. I lost a dog in 2005 too. It was old age, but still it's hard.
Losing one's mom is a tough one. My condolences to your g/f.

and the Alan Parsons tune. I love Alan Parsons & it's perfect for this.
Can't recommend because it's too late, but I'll give it a kick.

I thought about their song: Time, but didn't have it on my computer so I went with Old and Wise.

Happy New Year!
