Update -- Supporting the Troops at Walter Reed, In Honor of Jack Murtha

I just got this email

Dear ActForChange activist,

Back at the beginning of December, we issued a call for ActForChange activists to stand with Jack Murtha, the veteran and Congressional Democrat who challenged the President and called for a withdrawal plan to get our troops out of the quagmire that is Iraq.

Veterans for Peace generously added in $2,000 from your extra contributions donated to this project...and on December 16th we shipped a total of 150,000 long-distance minutes to the wounded soldiers there.

Sgt. Sosin at the Walter Reed MEDFAC wrote back to us yesterday that,

"It is so gratifying to see the outpouring of affection for these men and women who serve our country so bravely. It is you, the American people, who make this country what it is and makes us all proud to be Americans.

for posting this. it made me cry as it really just brings home the human cost of this travesty of a war.
