Such a nice late Christmas present that my sister came home yesterday and said that her boyfriend told her he's going to have to vote for a bunch of Democrats in 2006!!!! He brought this up while she was looking for "Indecision 2004" at our mall for him to buy her. Anyway, I'll give a little background since I know DU loves convert stories.
Throughout 2004, he was a good little church-going, talking point spewing Bushbot. My sister was not willing to give an inch in her defense of all things Kerry. Needless to say, I honestly thought that they were going to break up over the election when I heard about the nasty arguments they had every time they talked politics. They graduated from college in May of 2005 and he moved from Erie, Pennsylvania to Bedford, Texas (near Dallas) for work for Bell Helicopters while she's going for her master's in Bowling Green, Ohio. Apparently, Texas Republicans are too much for him because he told her yesterday that the Republicans are going too far and he is not at all liking what is happening. So he's planning to vote for a bunch of Democrats!!! Here's the place where you can help.
He also told her that he isn't sure how to change his voter registration from PA to TX. Does anybody know what I can tell her to tell him? He switched his driver's license already, but other than that, I'm clueless. In a point for my sister, he didn't register until she made him do it with her even though she knew he was going to vote for Bush because she recognized it's important just to vote. Period. Granted of course that he was such a Bushbot that he almost didn't vote because his polling place was a Methodist church and he's a Catholic. But whatever...
I'm also curious, does anybody know who his House of Rep. member would be?
Anyway, thanks if you can help with the registration thing! We need more Democratic votes in Texas!!
Thanks again and I hope nobody minds me sharing the story and asking the tiny favor!
