A Freeper has singled me out on his Nazi website, http://hard-talk.com because of my own, anti-war website, www.shockedandawful.com.

This Nazi has posted all of my personal info, including my unlisted phone number, in direct violation of the website's privacy statement!!!

Do I have legal recourse?!?!?!

This swine is actually in violation of his own Privacy statement!!!

The second issue is that is Network Solutions Terms, posting public info is not illeagal in most states.

I am tell you as a friend and a person who has had an issue this a bout a year ago, this info is PUBLIC information, and the person that put it out was you. You can make it private at the time you made the URL...

Your example is very diffrent, because when you write a check, you do not post that in a PUBLIC space...

If you and your mistress are not public figures, and if you go to a public hotel and you are photographed together leaving the hotel, publishing that photograph is not always legal. I'm not saying that this should be punishable, I'm just telling you that in some jurisdictions, it can be.

Agreed, that commercial application is improper.

However, if I took your voter record from the voter rolls and published your:

Address, phone number, etc.

And said "have fun everybody" or "get 'em" with malicious intent, I could and would be liable for any phone calls or "visits", or even the fear/threat caused by such an act.

This is different from "help me change so-and-so's mind"...

The information IS PUBLIC but the USE IS IMPROPER.
