Drip....drip....drip....just like Watergate....
Today it was the eavesdropping on the UN. What will it be tomorrow? We know there are more leaks just waiting to be uncovered. It's just a matter of time before you know about them. Some of us never thought Watergate would get Nixon, but it did. It was a slow process but they got the criminal. Many of us may be thinking that they will never be discovered, but Nixon thought the same thing. It's just a matter of time...drip....drip...

3. And somewhat of a real press too...
True, We are in much deeper doodoo on all counts here - they did learn their lessons after the Nixon set back. Cheney did say he wants those good ol'days back...

4. It's different this time. We have an unelected resident who says,
"Yeah, I broke the law. What the fuck do you think yer gonna do about it?"

Discovery is not the problem. The will to act is. w's regime has made clear that if we oppose him, there will be consequences.

5. Better than Watergater cause we all know we will survive it...
and the world wont end, it actually gets better when you remove a criminal president and his criminal administration. Nixon had a lot of inertia on his side. The Dems were oh so hesitant to Impeach anybody. Since everyone lived through Watergate, there is no Impeachmentphobia.

Check out my latest pieces at www.grandtheftelection.com. I'm starting a new series "Nixonians" about this administration and its ties/parallels to THAT administration.

7. I agree that the Bush cabal will be found out and dealt justice
Mostly because, we didn't have an internet with Watergate. I was there (as were others on this board). I was also shocked that they finally got Nixon. The drip, drip, drip came from small newspaper articles buried at the back of section one of your local newspaper. That was all we had. Nixon was pretty damned arrogant with his enemies list and all the lies. Bush is more arrogant. But the blogs and places like DU have had Bush's number since the illegal election of 2000. Even though the press seems to be asleep, people aren't as naive as they were then. Even those I talk to who don't follow the blogs or appear to follow what is going on have a basic knowledge of Bush and his crimes. It will probably take the Democrats taking back Congress to make it happen, but I believe it will. Hopefully we have Bush hamstrung for 2006 so he can't do much more damage before the cavalry arrives.

9. This is no watergate
This is no more an internal matter
This is breaking international law
This is an invasion by force of a country.

The world stands in judgement of US and its people
2006 will be a cross road
You chose the path.

We saw 2000 Al Gore, We witness 2004....wesosorry.com and more, would we not bring pressure to bear after 2006.

At stake is the future of US in the world eyes. This is not watergate.

This is about the future of a once great country and wheather it can ever recover from this deep deep bushit hole that you ass of a president dig for the country.

10. Yes, it is worse than Watergate.
I have no doubt. Nixon still has his supporters, even to this day. They loved him too...

13. It may be that my memory is faulty
But one thing I remember from the Nixon days is that the country wasn't run by religious nuts to the extent it is today. I also don't remember the blind adoration of Nixon from the public and the press. I wasn't as politically aware back then, either, so it might be that my memory is distorted. The way some now will tolerate any criminal act from Bush just because he CLAIMS to be a Christian is unbelievable.

What I'm wondering now is what Democrats are going to do about Bush admitting...bragging, actually, that he is breaking the law, and intends to continue doing so. If nothing is done, then there may as well be no law at all; Congress may as well disband and go home. If the president can break the laws they pass with no repercussions, we're wasting a hell of a lot of money paying them their salaries.

14. Nominated.
I'm surprised that I am the first person here to nominate this thread. You hit the nail on the head: this is a fascinating turn of events that we have witnessed in the past 10 months. The public's perception of President Bush has changed, and that is the most important foundation to build a case for justice upon. It is indeed much like Watergate (drip .... drip .... drip!) and I think that those who do not see that clearly yet are those who do not fully appreciate the power of ideas.
