Bush's heels dug in determination to "stay the course" smacks
to me of being blackmailed, or bought off. His whole attitude doesn't make sense. EVERYONE is telling him that his plan didn't work, that Iraq is a disaster, that what he's doing is devastating to our country. Enough pressure for any politician in his right mind to change direction. But not Bush. He defies everyone and continues his "stay the course" mantra.

What's up with him? The only thing I can figure is that he's either being blackmailed, or he was bought off. In both cases, it would have to be serious enough to outweight the serious damage being done to our country.

Clinton was blackmailed (or the attempt was made) while in office, over Lewinsky, I think. Something about information in private calls being leaked. I remember press reports about something like that.

What if the same thing happened to Bush and Cheney? What kind of deep, dark thing could they be blackmailed with? How much $$$ could Halliburton fork over to make those two defy the will of the American public? Something about this whole deal stinks to high heaven.

1. What's the mystery? Bush is INSANE, plain and simple.
The book "Bush on the Couch" is an excellent analysis of Bush's severely impaired mental and emotional state.

8. Those two "qualities" are the most detestable amongst his
idiotic repertoire, I agree. I should have included them--and would have had I not run short of ink...

:silly:

3. PR stunt designed to delay the inevitable
Bush has lost this war. This is all a part of an attempted stall designed to prevent the final defeat from happening on his watch.

5. It's Cheney. Chimperor Disgustsus is a pompous puppet.
Chimpy has NPD - and those are the strings that Cheney et. al. pull to manipulate everything Chimpy says and does. Chimpy is singularly incapable of 'leading' anything - even his dogs. He does nothing but go from one narcissistic suppply to the next.

6. "any politician in his right mind to change direction"
There is your first mistake, thinking he's of right mind. LOL

However, I have told this to a few friends but I honestly believe we have the first Gay president in the WH.
There are a few interesting tidbits out floating on the net regarding morons* "visits" to a certain Victor Ashe.

This I think may dove tail into your theory of him being blackmailed. What would be the worst thing to happen to him? Him being outed. I think what we are witnessing is another J. Edgar Hoover claiming there is no Mafia.

Everyone moron out there worries that impeachment would be disastrous for the nation, personally I never believed that line of bullshit, however, just think of what would happen if moron* was outed? We the left would laugh our asses off and say we knew it and accept him with open arms (well maybe not open arms but would be happy that he came out, because it would explain a host of things) while the right would rupture, split and explode. Now that would be some must see TV. LOL
