Gingrich Aide Admits Newt Has No Chance At Presidency
Quote of the Day: Gingrich Aide Admits Newt Has No Chance At Presidency
By Eric Kleefeld
TPMCafe

"It's a two-way contest between McCain and Romney."

—Rich Galen, strategist for Newt Gingrich, admitting his candidate doesn't stand a chance yesterday at a forum of GOP strategists. Galen spoke of Gingrich's potential role as a candidate who could pitch ideas and affect the debate, but had little optimism about an actual victory.

No shit Sherlock.

1. I'm sure we all have a few ideas about where Newt should be pitched...
...but no matter the route, he'll still end up in that big flamey place underground.

2. When you cheat on your wives before the election you do not
stand much of a chance of being elected into any high office especially if you are a hypocritical Republican.

9. John McCain is also an admitted adulterer
It led to the breakup of his first marriage.

4. I don't know... The scary thing about Newty has always been how he
can sound so sensible when he starts talking. You usually have to listen to him to the end before you get to the really nutty stuff.

7. That just makes it all the more important to remind people that he...
...has a looooong track record of saying absolutely anything that will advance whatever agenda he's pushing. And so nothing he says can be trusted. Just plain zero truth value.

And since people are tired of the harsh partisanship in politics these days, remind people that Newtie is one of the few people who can be held personally responsible for causing it.

5. It's not a two-horse race
Nootie ain't in it, but neither McCain nor Mitt are going to get the nomination. I have no idea who will, but the primaries are 14 months away. The GOP is desperately seeking better candidates. They have the same problem they had in 1998...no one with any name recognition acceptable to the base. Remember who they dug up last time...

6. The GOP Corporate Media
began cramming the idiot son, George W. Bush, down our throats at least a year in front of the 2000 primaries. The GOP race was indeed more of a coronation than a race, even with a temporary challenge from then "maverick" John McCain.

Let's see who they begin cramming down our throats this time around.

Geez, that's pretty damn old to be taking office for four years. I've got nothing against SEVENTY YEAR OLD PEOPLE, it's just that geez, McCain is like, what, SEVENTY YEARS OLD?????

Oh, yeah, he's a nutjob too.

15. NOOOOOO!!!!! C'mon Newt! Run! Spend lots and lots of money!!!!
There would be no greater joy in my heart to see Newt run and spend his wad and become a broke beggar who ends up getting iced in a crack deal gone wrong in a bad-ass part of DC.

Run Newt!!!

16. Gingrich only needs a little adulterous affair to get him all ginned up again.
That's all he needs and he's on his way.
