Amazon schedules a special sale for Sunday morning, fundies flip out.
For some unknown reason, Amazon has linked a discussion board to their current "customer vote" promotion. It's been highly entertaining in a train-wreck sort of way.

A certain contingent of the less-than-mentally-stable were already venting spleen about what they see as some evil corporate conspiracy to keep customers from buying the sale items, but when Amazon announced today that the next special sale would begin at 8 a.m. Sunday morning, the Great Jeebus Meltdown did verily commence:

1. So? There are no blue laws applying to them.
If I choose not to spend money on Sundays, that's my choice. I can also take any and all consequences, too. What's the problem?

2. Amazon hates Jesus, apparently.
Some of the posts are just bizarre--calling for boycotts of Amazon, condemning anybody who won't be in church Sunday when the sale starts, etc.

9. I don't get it, and I grew up an evangelical.
If they're going to boycott something, surely they could find something else for a better reason.

3. Do they want the trucks to sit still on Sundays too?

Or do they want their orders to get to them as soon as possible?

Sheesh.

8. damn!
Sunday is when I sacrifice poodles to the great space-god Zorkon. Might have to make an exception (looks like a reprieve for you, Mr. Fluffers) and get to Amazon. A portable dvd player for $25? I am there. And you tightie righties can kiss my ass.

12. The great Jeebus Meltdown, indeed

But don't you know?

NO-ONE can work on Sunday (or Saturday, if you're a Seventh Day Adventist). EVERYONE must be the same.

So, nurses and doctors must close their hospitals and clinics on Sundays, cops need to park those patrol cars, firefighters should simply let homes burn down on the Sabbath. No work means no work.

No emergency veterinary service, no gas man filling up your elderly granny's propane tank when it's 14 degrees outside, no hotels open, no air traffic controllers.

That's what Jeebus wants: no mercy on the Sabbath.......

Man was made for law, right? What?
