2. I don't see a problem with the first one
The first one is at the Chimp's expense, not hers.

The second one is a little unfair since she has little ability to truly act on war issues since she doesn't yet hold the leadership position yet! But, I can understand the frustration of her not being more confrontational and oppositional with the administration on the war. I don't agree, but I understand.

I do agree that this is a WEIRD effort by Rall, whom I normally appreciate.

I think also that perhaps even many Dems and Libs have an unacknowledged problem with women in power and have a need to portray a strong woman as either a Commissar or a shrill, yelling mother. Sad really.

9. Pelosi has declared her intent to DO NOTHING to stop Bush. . .
Edited on Sat Dec-02-06 10:37 PM by pat_k
There is no magic solution to rule by signing statement.

People are being tortured in our name NOW.

The Constitution is in breach NOW.

Bush and Cheney have proven that nothing short of impeachment will stop their lawless abuses.

Pelosi's "impeachment is off the table" pledge is a slap in the face to the elected bodies, good government organizations, and countless ordinary citizens who have presented clear, compelling, and complete cases for impeachment.

Without reason or justification -- without saying a word about whether the public's accusations have merit -- she arbitrarily dismissed all charges with her pledge.

At a time when our Constitution desperately needs a champion, Pelosi has become an "anti-champion." She is doing her best to suppress the public's outrage at the abuses of the Bush White House with her blather about bipartisanship and "pledge" not to impeach. By all reports she is enforcing her "off the table" edict with an "iron hand" and has successfully kept any member who threatens to become a champion "in their place."

We need a champion. She stands in our way. Until she becomes a champion herself, or at least gets out of the way, she will rightfully be the subject of attack.

10. She wisely did not add the words....
...until the evidence is presented to the American people.
