Net neutrality issue's gonna explode - list your MUST READ SITES for SOLID reporting.

My number one is Robert Parry's - he adds REAL historical information with his insightful commentary. Something usually lacking with political commentary these days. He's been doing this for 11years.

http://consortiumnews.com/

And then the best of the rest:

Buzzflash is a top choice as a news alert source.

Media Matters is a godsend, in my book.

Salon, Huffington Post, and kos are pretty darn good commentary more often than not.

DU's LBN is just stellar and the best on the web, in my view.

So if you agree, say so - if you want to share other, please do.

NET NEUTRALITY. IT MATTERS.

1. "Gonna explode" -- What are you getting at? I think Dems are pro-neutrality
are the R's going to try and force this as their parting shot?

2. Cable & telephone companies would love to sneak it in.
Here's their argument: Consumers wouldn't have to pay a penny. It would improve service for some applications. And Net Neutrality is just more government regulation.

Of course, they're wrong.

If we don't get Net Neutrality, truth-in-advertising rules should be applied to cable & telcos so that all their ads have this warning label: "Advertised download speeds only apply to our affiliates and to those content providers that pay us a fee. These privileged sites constitute less than 1% of Internet websites. The remaining websites are not improved and may even be slower."

net neutrality even more malicious and twisted than the Harry and Louise ad campaign.

Staying in touch with the very real REASONS why we NEED the net are the purpose of my post.

5. They have full build out language attached to the bill
So that people representing traditionally under served Communities were supporting the Republican version. It is a clever carrot!

8. The typical MO for that group of thugs.
They even cynically use a woman of color in their ads as the potential victim of the rich, moneygrubbing internet folks.

Sleazy and shameless. Typical.

4. This is such a big money issue.
The advertising has been on all the time here. The cable companies vs the phone companies. The lobbyists are out in full force and the election just took place. Accountability is as low as it will get this term.

Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF)

7. They must have had the ads prepared depending on outcome of election.

I am seeing them on every channel now. The focus is completely skewed - and I hope Silicon Valley DOES strike back with major ads. Time for Silicon Valley to put their money into the free press and the press back as much as possible.

That is why my thread is a sign of support for those who are most likely to lose the scope of their voices should big bizness get their away....yet again.
