Made a point of saying it. That is all. :hi: MKJ

edited to add, not quite all.

In the late 1990s, Alan left to serve as main anchor in Jacksonville, Florida where he was later also named nightside managing editor. He logged many hours during hurricanes and the 2000 election controversy, when he first revealed more than 20,000 so-called over and under votes in Duval County. His reporting on endangered North Atlantic right whales brought national focus to a little-known species which has only an estimated 300 whales left. His newscasts won a long list of awards including Emmys and Edward R. Murrow Awards and individually Alan has won numerous awards for everything from spot news to feature stories.

2. Did he start off by refering to him as President Bush?
If you make your first reference as "President," then it's okay to use "Mr." in subsequent references.

6. NO, great question. His co anchor called him President in her story. When she passed off to him,
he said "Mister" bush, emphatically, and then continued with his story.

3. As president Jefferson wanted everyone to call him "Tom."
Enough of all the royalist pomp and circumstance.

Restore the Republic!

9. I remember the time a reporter called him "Sir"
Bush interrupted him and asked, "Who are you talking to?" The reporter then said "Mr. President..."

(I would have said, "I'm talking to you, asshole.")

10. 'Mr.' is an honorific afforded by certain news providers
It's acceptable per Associated Press style to say "President Bush" on first reference, then "Bush" in every subsequent reference.
