1. The answer to that question is patently obvious:
Yes, and they're not far from correct.

6. Gates nomination insures pappy Bush & Carlyle Group a prolong war for profit...
Edited on Tue Dec-05-06 05:46 PM by GreenTea
Gates, the Iran-Contra criminal nomination and subsequent approval as SoD will just insure the war will continue and prolong the imperialism and profits for a long time...Now that Rummy's gone, we now all have to give Gates some time - and Gates will do many a song & dance to keep the war going until Jan. 22nd, 2009 count on it....Only congress can shut down the funds...but they won't have the balls and the media will make sure of that.

Impeachment, forget it...even IF investigations started in the spring of 2007...impeachment couldn't possibly happen before May 2008...with the media spinning and the republicans stalling the investigations, it'll take a year & half minimum for all to go through,, there has to be investigations and that takes many month's for each side to prepare and the hearings, etc, etc. and by that time, it's nearly election time Nov. 2008...

So then what will that get us, six month's to say yeah, we got ya, oh I feel so good...That kind of empty, feel good, reminds me of a mother waiting to watch the a killer die after 24 years on death row for killing her kid...in the end, very anti-climatic!

Republicans would then get a new life for the presidency six or seven month's before election time, because all has been "cleaned up in the republican party"...Get use to it Bush will be there on Jan. 22nd 2009 turning out the lights...Don't let your hate and desire to stick it to the republicans distort your reality and sense of what really needs to be accomplished.

That's why Bush doesn't give a shit what we think about his war for profit...what's he gonna do sink even lower to 28 or 29% in the polls, big deal, like he gives a shit...We will be in Iraq - It's a safe place (and profitable place) for Bush to be to in to protect himself as the "war time president"...BushCo (Pappy & JR) doesn't want the war to end, why would he? I have no faith what so ever, that even in the face of almost universal outrage Bush's ego will allow a change, not to mention leaving all that oil and trillions to be made behind...No, I think the arrogant, elitist, egotistical, vindictive little bastard Bush - that his intentions have been made very clear...we'll be in Iraq as long as he's president (Jan. 22 2009)...

Two things you can absolutely count on...Bush and his wars will be with us until January 22nd 2009 (at least).

8. ...and it will be up to a Democratic administration to FIX it...
no grown-up will be able to whine about "everything being Bush's fault." we'll get tarred with every little smidgeon of discomfort in our withdrawl and healing.

you're so right... they don't care and there won't be any proactive retreat until 2009.

12. youre partly right- its also just to have military foothold in the region - hence the 14 permanent
military bases ... its been said that, given the US intentions to maintain this permanent prescence, that the low level insurgency is a tolerable or even a "good" thing since it provides a cover or reason for our being there.

14. May I recommend this to read
If you are so inclined, go to the Stuart Wilde page (www.stuartwilde.com)
and read the piece "The Day the Fat Go Hungry".

http://www.stuartwilde.com/Articles/SW_articles_fat_go_hungry.htm

First sentence: "I've seen the day when the fat go hungry, the day when it's all taken from them. The arrogance of indolence will bring them down."

16. The stealing of the Iraq oil hasn't gone that well......
More time is needed and more US taxpayer money has to go down that rat hole in Iraq. Destruction of the US Treasury is the other goal for these losers in power. We will fight for criminals and greedy people before we even fight for ourselves.

I think it is kind of late to save the USA's reputation at this point and who cares about Shrub's anyway. Maybe #41 will start crying for George too.

six more months.

They have been telling us 6 months longer for over 3 years, and now they are appointing another fellow and asking for more. How many times will we fall for this before we DEMAND change (rather than simply ask for it)?

22. Also Bush's legacy is involved. He is a failed president and to pull out now
just cements that idea. They want to blame Dems for any loss in Iraq. They want to pass this off on to the Dem Congress and the next President who will more than likely be a Dem.

25. In my Humble Opinion
The war is being dragged out until January 2009 or later, so that the Repugs can blame its failure on the new Administration, which has a very good chance of being Democratic.

The illogicality of this blame will be ignored, as they will say if America had just "stayed the course" for a little while longer, the Bushists would have somehow pulled a victory out of the chaos they left behind.

:grr: :nuke:
