Frist's tearjerking plea for bipartisan in his farewell speech yesterday
was pretty darn ironic, wasn't it? I listened to some of it this morning. Now, refresh my memory, who had control of the legislative agenda and the scheduling of bills brought to the floor? Who had private meals with Little Boots on the regular basis to get his marching orders? Who threw borderline tantrums and threatened the "nuclear option?" Who was so concerned about "maintaining a majority" and "party over nation" (to quote this walking cadaver) that he was willing to throw the nation under the bus?

Sit down and shut up, Mr. Frist!

3. He was the Senator from my state. I liked to think of him as a giant
rubber stamp for the bushes. I didn't know rubber stamps gave a crap. Now the great state of Tennessee has another rubber stamp - Corker/Porker. In the tradition of all rubber stamps, he will try to steal as much as he can while no one is looking. I wonder if Corker/Porker will inherit Frist's day traders? The traders could just move out of Frist's office and directly into Corker's office. Considering what Corker/Porker did to Chattanooga, it is likely they will.

What arrogance.

edit: I know Frist is leaving because of term limits. I'm talking republicans in general.

5. They're all so noble on their way out......
when they're first coming or finally going they tend to get all dewy-eyed, altruistic and inspired about the office they're entering or vacating. Everything else in between, of course, is in direct conflict with what's coming from their lips at the moment. While they held office they did everything in their power to make sure it was only THEIR opinions that were counted, THEIR laws enacted. Bipartisanship? That was quaint, useless sentimentality when you were IN office, Mr. Frist.

You won't be missed, Mr. Frist. You'll be relegated to the ash-bin of history the moment you step outside of those hallowed halls that you so soiled with your presence.

SEEYA, ASSHOLE!

8.  i saw a spit and spat of that and wondered, "is he washing his hands in the pontius pilate cloth?"
and who is he washing his hands in the pontius pilate cloth for?

in the confessionary box everything is forgiven -- out in the world, the world does not easily forgive or forget...what are his words trying to shelter, i wondered.

9. Did he actually say the word "bipartisan"?
After Rush and the slime that emulates him redefined that word as "defeat"?

11. Is this Mr. Upordownvote?
Gee, I don't remember him acting in a bipartisan manner even once during his time as Majority Leader. Not once.
