Since Obama is only one letter different from Osama
Since Obama is only one letter different from Osama

And the name Hillary has been made a pejorative for years now,

I guess, if the powers that be choose to run
either of them,

Looks like another repuke administration come 2008

How sad

When Gore's a shoo-in who doesn't want to run

When will they ever learn?
Will they ever learn?

11. You can't trash a brand if the product works better than all others.
They can try but, even in America, some attention is paid to ideas.

28. With all due respect, if nobody buys the SPAM, Hormel would drop it.
So....Somebody's buying the SPAM. Just because we don't eat it doesn't mean (like Bush's followers) that someone does, no matter how ideologically or nutritionally misguided they may be.

Edited on Sun Dec-10-06 07:02 PM by pnwmom
everywhere else? They didn't vote for the name, they voted for the man.

Negative ads are only good for shock value. No one will be shocked if the Rethugs try to pull something stupid with Obama's name. I'm sure Obama will know how to innoculate the public against this. He's already been making fun of his name, and it's working.

31. C'mon! There will be negative ads of ANY nominee.
That's hardly a valid criticism of Obama or sound strategy for choosing a nominee.

If we nominate Martin Luther King or Jesus Christ, there will be negative ads.

There are plenty of reasons not to choose Obama. His name is the least of them.

29. Many Illinois Republicans voted for Obama, rather than Keyes.
Hundreds of thousands of Bush voters voted for Obama.

Illinois is not that different than the rest of the country.

if the Dems don't come up with someone besides Hillary (she's status quo and a Clinton)
and Osama (whom I like but don't think he can win)
the Dems are Doomed.... Gonna have to be someone with a military background.
period, end of story- cuz we will be knee-deep in blood and bullshit by the election.

15. i have to agree with this -- "obama" is not going to "play in Peroria"
it's not my feeling on the subject... it's a rhetorical thing. if Max Cleland can be smeared with being unpatriotic and associating with "the enemy," i'm afraid that we'd be making it too easy for th pukes by sending up someone with a phonetic correspondence.

we're not ready yet, and he's YOUNG... maybe, he's not ready yet. whoever get's the nod is going to face the apocalypse bush has left behind. wouldn't an elder statesman be a better choice?

Curious that you said "statesmen." If you really wanted someone older, there are plenty of women.

If Obama won, he'd be older than JFK when he took office.

21. I have a feeling that
Obama can stand on his own. I just have this feeling that if he is what many of us think he is and what we think he can do for this party he will be just fine. The days of the Repugs with all their negatism may be proving them wrong. The American people are changing their thinking when it comes to all of this crap. If the Democrats can show their stuff for the next year and a half we might all be pleasantly surprised.
