So they're going to cremate pinochets body

As he requested, Pinochet will be cremated, according to son Marco Antonio, to avoid desecration of his tomb by "people who always hated him."

I have two thoughts on this:

1) "people who always hated him."
It's not like he didn't give them reason to.
A brutal, murderous dictator whose legacy will be mentioned along with the names of Pol Pot, Charles Taylor, Benito Mussolini, Gim Jeong-il, Saddam Hussein, etc. Kind of makes it easy to see why people WOULD want to desecrate the grave.
Especially after this little pinochettian quip from 1988:
When investigators uncovered coffins that had been stuffed with two bodies each in the aftermath of the coup, he dismissed it as "a good cemetery space-saving measure."

2) I am deeply disappointed that they are cremating the evil, bloated remains of his carcase. I did so much want to wear my tuxedo and do the two-step on the f**kers grave.

wanted to dig-up and test for rat-poison, that won't be possible if his remains are nothing but ashes.

It's like Lay, there is no real evidence he died naturally, except some coroners report, any evidence his cohorts in crime snuffed him to keep him shut-up, is gone.

Certain types of rat poison are used by black bag operators on "wetwork" because the rat poison doesn't leave much evidence, very few identifiable byproducts of metabolism remain and the death looks like a natural coronary death.

Be suspicious of heart attacks if there are people that would have reasons to keep someone from saying what they know.

They ought to let the families of those who were killed by him draw straws and the winners get to toss him out.

or a state funeral...or a memorial.

1) Too many Chileans waiting to take a number and get on line to piss on his grave.
2) Too many of Pinochet's victims' families didn't get a body to bury, or a gravesite, either.

Methinks the Chileans may try to sue Pinochet's offspring, or his estate, for the $$$$. Strip the family of his ill-begotten assets.
